The PlayStation VR is the only sensible choice this early in the VR cycle - unless you already have a super powered gaming PC. I'd be interested in the Rift or even the Vive if purchasing them didn't have to be tied to purchasing a totally new PC. I could get a Rift and PC bundle now, but the whole thing reeks too much of 'early adopter' at the moment... And it's an awful lot of money.

I do want to get a new PC (tax deductible!) but not now. I'll wait until the end of this year for that, by then my current PC will be 7 years old - and time for a complete replacement and hopefully the whole VR thing will look a lot clearer.

The kit looks nice but the games available so far are underwhelming.

Watched IGN Podcast Beyond a week back and what they said just added to the reasons I'll not be jumping in anytime soon. If I was though, PSVR would be my option.

Wow, reading all about the Rift today has done even more to put me off VR for now.

We've got an Oculus Rift setup in the office so just had a go on a few tech demos and Eve Valkyrie, was way more immersive than I was expecting.

Definitely sold on the idea of VR now, looking forward to getting my PSVR in October.
Will probably get a HTC Vive for PC though, along with one of Nvidia's new graphics cards. That'll probably be at/around Christmas though.

That's what people don't understand until they try it, even the low-poly rough-textured objects feel like you can reach out and touch them.

There was a cityscape tech demo, kinda looked like Gotham, where you're stood on a ledge at the top of a building.
One guy walked up to the edge, so I pushed him and he completely panicked

Do you reckon it has anything to do with the fact he's a massive racist?

Thinking about getting one of these for Rock Band as it looks amazing. You can get the headset and touch control bundle with games for cheap.

Would mean I'd be buying a graphics card too though as I only have a 750Ti running on my machine

Wait for Microsoft to launch Windows Mixed Reality.

There isn't room for 3 VR platforms on PC, my bets are on Oculus being to the one either forced out or forced to comply with competitor's systems.

Unfortunately the game I want to play is exclusive to the rift. Although I have seen some people that have apparently got it running using other systems like PSVR

I haven't really looked in to the differences of each system and what makes games exclusive to them

That's the problem, exclusives, there's a format war going on which is half the reason I went with PSVR.

Steam VR is currently winning against Oculus, and once Microsoft joins in with headsets that work on both PC and Xbox One there will be no room for the Oculus platform.

That's the one thing that's held me back from buying one in the last week. I figure by the end of the year they'll have another price cut or it will genuinely be dead and reduced to clear. Then I can grab one then and wait for the next wave of Nvidia cards before picking up a new GPU.

Seems kind of silly going all in for the one game I want when I'll likely be able to save £200+ in 6-12 months time
