I think people are much less likely to spend on expensive console peripherals than what could be considered a new media with which to experience content on PC, with limitless choice and control configurations.

I think the price is to be expected. This shouldn't be expected to go mainstream at this stage, but the current state of PC gaming, and the willingness to spend more for a better experience, whether that means 60Hz, 120Hz or 4K, means there's almost definitely an appetite for this.

If I had confidence in the games, knew the prices of Vive/PS VR and wouldn't have to upgrade my PC, I'd certainly consider it at the current price.

Once we know all that stuff and Nvidia/AMD release their new cards, I think VR will be a much more attractive option, even at this price point.

I just had a thought.
Could they use VR tech to simulate a huge TV?

Yes, you can replicate a virtual cinema screen, however the resolution is lower as it only occupies part of your vision.

Anyone saying this price was expected is kidding themselves. Its at least £100 more than most people would have thought this would be.

Having said that, I've spent most of this week thinking about it and I'm at least half way to convincing myself that I could buy this even at £500.

£500 for unit, controller, camera and two games :shifty: .

Admittedly about the PS VR setup, but hey!

Also not for a bundle surely...or in fact anything if you really expect to ever have to pay £50 for a game and £100 for 2 move controllers and a camera? Are you kidding. Also not comparable to a single Xbox One controller and a remote controller.

You can use Dual Shock 4 with PSVR.

So far we've seen no price for Oculus Touch, so the PS Move comparison is unfair at this point.

I wasn't surprised by the price. They are initially targeting the same people who spend £500 on a graphics card.
In time the price will drop and other manufacturer will release cheaper options, but it was always going to be expensive to begin with.

They've actually come up with a very clever way of handling motion sickness when playing the game too, check this out

I've played minecraft on our DK2 for a bit and it's mental just how large everything really is in relation to the player. Even a simple block becomes this huge thing.

Have to agree, by the time PC VR becomes affordable you'll see the likes of nVidia, AMD and HP come in and compete too.

I can see PS VR and Gear VR selling around 10m-15m each with Rift and Vive selling about 1m each.
