Anor Londo has been surprisingly pleasant so far. I was expecting hell but all the big, bad nasties I've come across have fallen to two swings each from my zweihander. Called it a night now as I wasn't sure where to go next and I've played enough now. Just cleared out all the knights in the area by Solaire's bonfire.

It's funny, my experience of anor is nearly identical to yours up to that point.

"This is pretty fun, what the strawberry float is everyone moaning about!"

Yeah I'd read a lot of complaints about the archers but I just zwei crushed them into oblivion. Easy.

Lets you kindle bonfires up to 20 flasks.

But don't kindle the Firelink bonfire as it goes up to 20 flasks anyway at a certain point in the game.

The only thing that got me about Anor was the giant golems on the first visit, I like to kill everything but they were just too much of a pain in the arse and on the second visit where you have to die by the crystal dragon guy to progress. Because I am so sick skillz I managed to jump up onto a position where I couldnt die so just stood there for a few mins until I tried the old die to progress tactic.

I didn't Arnor Londo too bad. I think that my most feared area is The Tomb of the Giants because it's so dark down there. After following the exploits of other players on here as they go through Arnor Londo, I'm eager to hear more from Tragic as he progresses.

So er, you know this Smough and Ornstein. Do people actually struggle on that boss because, well, I like, just beat them on my second ever attempt.

Also, "amazing chest ahead"

 Yes, they are a major sticking point for many folks, myself included. Everything after that is pretty easy in comparison.

Well, apart from the final boss. But you probably beat it on the second attempt as well :x

Some people struggle with the Four Kings, but if you've levelled the Zwei up that much already you'll have no trouble with them. You might have some fun with the DLC though, as the Zwei isn't exactly the fastest weapon around. ;)

Would people recommend Demon's or Dark for a newcomer to the Souls series? I had planned to give Demon's a go, read a few beginners guides and what have you but seeing as I now have Dark Souls through GoG I wondered if that would be the better place to start?

Personally I'd just play Dark Souls, although I still haven't finished Demon's. They're both pretty big games, and Dark is generally regarded as the better of the two.

Don't forget to use DSFix if you're playing on PC!

Well done TM. Did you do it by yourself or did you summon anyone? I didn't struggle with O&S too much (prob about 5 attempts) abut did summon another player and the AI to help me out.

The bit I did struggle on was the run up to that fight. where there is a section which takes a good 10 mins to complete and ends with you going up some roof tops to the bonfire whilst archers dick you about. I must have replayed that bit about 20 times and proper lost my rag with it a few times.

I think the thought of S&O was worse than the reality of it. I think I had 3 proper tries at beating it before succeeding with a couple of tries being kind of half arsed to see how far I could get by tanking it solo. My soul farming to prepare means I still have something like 45 humanity left in stock
