Reading the last few pages is like some one walked into a room with D&D board game roleplayers mumbling and groaning magic.

Just looks like a hole to me

Managed to get in the root now on the right

Go to the left and then go back to the middle of the room. In the hole is a beam on which you can walk. This will lead you to the weak point once you've taken care of the sides.

Now every time I get near the hole it sweeps me off the edge!

Ive never said this about Dark Souls but this is the first cheap boss in the game! the fact I have to run miles to the boss every time isnt helping

Yes Bed of Chaos is a bit of a miss-step in the game, I just forget about it every play-through until I remember I have to go there.
I wonder if they just ran out of development time?

Awful boss. I am convinced that they just run out of time when it came to designing the bed of chaos. The witch of Izalith has some awesome lore around her, and they could have made it an amazing fight, but instead we get a mess. I think the whole lost Izalith area seems rushed.

What annoys me most about that boss is how cheap it is, and it's more of a 'keep trying til I get it right' rather than a real challenge. I try to do all the bosses in one try when doing a playthrough, but this one you don't really have a chance because of the bad design. Only other ones I struggle with are Artoris and Manus (cos they pretty tough bastards). (Red drake too I guess but he ain't a boss, but he also suffers from poor design.)

DARK SOULS COMPLETED

8-)

It's been one hell of a ride and I think this has ended up being in my top 10 games of all time. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement, especially when I nearly gave up at S&O :dread:

That ending :fp:

It's not the destination, it's the journey.

But yes the ending is awful.

Good going! how long have you been playing?

I was fighting Gwyn Lord of Cinder earlier not knowing he was the final boss

Lucky for me I lost and went off to do some other things.
Feel I am missing something though

Went into the Painting and killed off Priscilla
Went back to the start of the game! didn't even realized this was possible until today and killed off the first boss

tbh I found with Dark Souls that I killed off lots of MPC's by accident in my hit first ask questions later attitude
Haven't fought MANUS or even know where he is :shifty:

Also defeated the Hydra at Ash Lake but isn't there suppose to be some DLC around this?

Aye. There's no way to kill that bugger that doesn't feel like some kind of exploit. However you fight it, it always seems like you're cheaping it somehow.

I was just wondering if you stumbled upon the alternate ending you get if you go back out the fog door. Like Mori said, the journey is more important, especially if you haven't been reading and looking for all the lore. I completely forgot about the story during my playthrough and I just treated it like a big bounty hunting mission.

I thought I was just lighting a bonfire to level up before continuing :fp:

Played it over the course of a year and had 92 hours on the clock.

Oh and yes, I agree it was about the journey
