Yeah light every one. Only kindle the ones you need to.

Resting at them replenishes your flasks and acts as a checkpoint. It also respawns all of the enemies, bar bosses and some special mobs.

New Londo ruins suck my dick. I've forgotten where you're meant to go. To join the darkstalkers do you need to drain the place first or can I skip all that gooseberry fool?

Completed my first (and probably final) play through last night.

Took me 10 months and ~80 hours of game time.
Started as a Theif
Ended up with:
a Soul Level of 102
wearing:
    Thief Hood +8
    Paladin +5 Chest and Gloves
    Black Leather Legs +6.
Was using
    Black Knight Sword +5
    Divine Eagle Shield +5
    Black Bow of Pharis +15
4 different catalysts (Beatrice's; Izalith; Manus; and Tin Darkmoon, I never found one I was happy with)
    using 4 attunement slots with
      Dark Bead
      Dark Fog
      Dark Orb
      Great Heavy Soul Arrow
I enjoyed the end better than Demon's Souls, but the whole experience was on a par, possible a bit better.
Struggles with weight limits impacted me throughout the game, my last 10 or so level ups were for Endurance. Probably started as the wrong character, as my play style evolved once I got the Drake Sword and solidified when I got comfortable with the Black Knight Sword (which is sh!t in PVP).

I sucked at being invaded, only defeating a PVP invasion on 3 occasions, though I did enjoy hiding from them and having them give up. Knowing I was probably going to loose anyway, hiding and wasting their time, which I did on about 5 occasions, felt like a moral victory for me. Favourite one of those was in the Painted World, where I just ran up the tower and watched them running about the world trying to find me for 30 minutes.

Probably in my top 5 games of all time.

Divine Eagle Shield? Why?

I used to used the BKS too and after a few teething problems I've switched to the Zweihander... Sheet DPS is lower than certain other weapons but due to stat scaling it actually does more damage.

Unfortunately all the Ul.G.Swords/G.Swords are crap in PVP as they're slow, easy to parry and just leave you open for back stabs.

the 95 damage reduction suited my play style (parrying was not my strong point), and I was at a blacksmith and was able to upgrade the shield to be Divine, so I thought I'd go for it.

As i mentioned I struggled with weight and the BKS and Eagle Shield were the best balance I could find.

The Eagle shield is pretty heavy, if you do play again try the Grass Cress shield (it regenerates stamina). Most of the enemies deal physical damage, not magic, so that "divine" part of the shield makes your physical resistance suffer. Quite a few of the spells also deal pure physical damage too, adding to the waste of upgrading it to divine.

What were your stats by the end? Vit, End, Str and Dex should really be your main stats. If you go for a Int/Fai build you tend to drop Str for one of those.

I can't quite remember, but if I said V, E, S and D were all around 28 to 32 with a 1 point margin either way, I wouldn't be far off. Don't recall touching my F much.

Got a bit bored (stuck) on my NG+ so I've started a new character. Picked Knight and will focus on strength and faith.

I didn't know you could summon before meeting Solaire but I got someone in who helped me kill Havel and the Taurus Demon. Which is great because now I've got Havel's ring within 45 mins of playing.
