If you want to stay mobile with your new character put souls into DEX and use one of the katanas.

I didnt delete the other character, so I can go back at any point when I have summoned the will to do so.

I tried running past him first time and he did that leap and smashed my gooseberry fool in one. I found the best method was to engage and rotate him and run away. That lead to disaster about 1/3 of the time though.

I did, and I wasn't a butt frustrated, anal anguished, crybaby suffering from a fractured ass when taking the lost izalith shortcut.

That wasn't just ass devestation, that was an anal apocalypse.

I imagine the ranged ability will prove useful on my Pyro run. Im so used to having no option but to engage in melee.

I think its because DS has a largely pretty good community, especially compared to most others out there.

Of course it does. Parry and riposte helps even more..
Just make sure to kill those Bonewheel guys first.

Doesn't help that I'm really hungover and therefore not in the mood for an anal pounding.

Pyromancy and firebombs work really well on those knights if I remember correctly.
