Yea, we've still got DS on our 'want to do' list. But it'd be a strawberry floating monumental task :dread: :dread:

What buil are you using, and what soul level? Think I'm going to need some help cutting the tail of that dragon.

I think I've seen all I can of the Depths and am at the dragon boss. It looks freaky as hell and had beaten me twice but I think I can take him with my soul magic the next time I try.

The Gaping Dragon is one of the few bosses I still struggle with despite having finished the game a fair few times. I don't think I've ever managed to kill him without co-op buddies.

Did you defeat the AI invader Kirk Knight of Thorns? The depths is the first of 3 places he crops up and if you kill him in all 3 regions you can get an armour set plus he randomly drops his sword and shield. If you kill the boss first you can't fight him and thus miss this side-quest entirely.

I like to keep Gaping alive for farming humanity from the rats not far from the bonfire. One of the best spots for humanity imo. Plus invaders spawn right by the spot so you can farm those strawberry floaters too.

Sort of stuck at a point where I need to progress but need to grind 20k souls if I want to do the Sif stuff. Too scared to push on in case I lose everything like I did in the depths.

Also, quick question - I killed the Hydra and went along the lake edge and killed the yellow golem thing, but Im sure someone on mumble mentioned something about there being a one time only encounter there after you kill the Hydra - well I didnt go straight there, so have I missed out?

Not really. I believe everything they have for sale is available at the DLC version of Firelink Shrine

Vendors

Dusk of Oolacile sells Sorceries and can be summoned at the lake after you freed her from the Golden Crystal Golem.

So the whole thing of "When you die, it's usually your fault" doesn't really hold true of the bosses, eh?

I'm struggling with the Taurus Demon at the moment, and he'll just trap me and kill me before i can do anything. Is this just a "grind your levels higher" jobby?

Get right on his balls. Or you can do a drop attack from the bit where the archers are, dont take too long because he'll just come up and get you.

From my experience, everything has a pattern, everything has a weakness you can exploit. The tricky bit is learning these, then staying alive long enough to capitalise.

Failing that, get him to kill you against the bit in the middle where the wall is gone and he might jump off and follow you down. He dies after you die.

No loots, but its a way around if you're really struggling.

Apologies if I misjudged my response to the request for help

Oh wow.

Finally killed the Taurus demon (failed because I wasn't using my shield enough).

Get to the next bit. No bonfire but whatever.

Get insta killed by some random dragon. Then the firebombers near the previous bonfire get a lucky shot on me and I die there so I can't get all my souls back.

Cool.

Bonfire help if you want it: before the dragon you see on the right there is a staircase, go down there, there is a little corridor opposite it. At the top of a staircase there is a ladder you can kick down, do that and you can use the original bonfire for the whole area, much quicker travelling around. I missed it the first time, too.
