Yeah, that giant firebomb out of nowhere, or the lift into the spiked ceiling, or the treasure box monster, were all so obvious.

I looked up the lift shaft before getting in. :P

There are lots of mimics, so you soon learn to attack any chest before trying to open it. As for the firebomb, you can see the giant chucking them. On my first attempt I just legged it past everything before being killed by a rather quick swordsman. I read up on the bonfire location before making my way back up. :shifty:

I checked the lift too, but yeah I was caught out by the firebomb. And the first time for the treasure box.

Stop mourning, it sounds like I've died a lot more than you. Those are the main notable KOs.

The fact that you made it to the top on your first try suggests that you're being impatient and wreckless now.

Sens really wasn't that hard, but then I didn't even find this spiked lift. ALWAYS attack every chest as there's a lot of mimics from this point on.

Got to the crystal caves and died twice doing relatively easy things so I just told the game to strawberry float off and switched it off  really wasn't in the mood tonight.

So this great wolf, turns out I missed that too :fp:

If you're attempting the crystal caves Sif should be ridiculously easy. I went after Sif post S&O in my Havel gear and Balder shield and tanked him in one go with lightning zwei and Black Knight's Sword.

I wittled the bastard down to about 5% health only once, pretty much just chance wild swinging. Haven't managed to repeat the performance.

Ad7 it's a massive door outside a bridge by the upper level of darkroot garden.

Roll underneath him where he can't attack you then cut his legs off. Use a shield which protects 100% against physical damage and has high stability.

I went in to almost every fight the first time two-handed and rolling about like a loon, even near precarious drops. And the enemies were genuinely less difficult then.

First time through:

Every subsequent time:

And that first time I never had to deal with two of the snake soldiers at once.

It's the best sword in the game. Think it's on a corpse in the graveyard by firelink shrine.

Oh, well, I imagine everything would be easier with the best sword in the game.

That's right. I'm a bit too weak to use it properly though. I only get two swings before all my stamina is gone.

Those mushroom dudes in Darkroot are too funny. I chased a baby one and killed it in front of its parents.

It's not really the best sword, it's slow and of you miss you're strawberry floated.

However, slamming enemies to the floor is stupidly satisfying.

That dude on the bridge is always there. He must have fallen off on your first run.

Some enemies in Dark Souls don't respawn after you die or rest, but but you'll never run into new ones.
