Didn't know that. Spent 6k buying one, but will keep that in mind for the future. Cheers! :)

Blighttown? Shitetown more like.

Got the first bonfire lit, and I've ventured a bit further through the rickety bit. Got to a wall with a giant testicle thing wriggling out of it and a cave. Went to the cave, got ready to fight the big club wielding guy that appeared and started backing away a bit. Camera spazs out and I end up falling to my death.

That and the framerate goes to gooseberry fool some times but I've heard that's a general issue.

The big thing wriggling around can only be killed from behind and drops a really useful Pyromancy spell if memory serves as for those big guys you can usually make them kill themselves if you don't want to get up close and personal with them.

You can change camera auto correct settings in the options, so that it doesn't flip around walls.

Currently trying the dlc for the first time. Artorias can seriously do one :fp:

Artorias was my favourite fight in the game :datass: It tought me how to dodge and counter properly so once I'd learned how to do it, the fight became punch and counter punch.

Wait till you fight manus :dread:

The best thing I learned whilst fighting Artorias is that you can actually interrupt him while he's charging up meaning you can avoid him using his buff ability where he makes himself stronger for around a minute.

Blighttown done. Thank strawberry float. Hated that place.
Quelaag done. Wasn't that hard. The summon outside it basically distracted her the whole fight while I hacked away at her legs.
Had a further wander, rang the bell, visited Demon Ruins. Left Demon Ruins (I did beat Ceaseless Discharge though) and I'm heading back to Undead Parish and what I believe is Sens Fortress. Good times. I just need more Large Titanite Shards to upgrade my Claymore a bit further. Been stuck on +8 for a bit and I'd like to get it to it's highest point soon.

Absolutely love this game. Can't believe I took so long to get into it.

The Pryo turned hollow in my game before I got Flashsweat.

I have no idea how to now defeat Ceaseless Discharge now.

I went and strawberry floated up.

He is one of the easiest bosses when you know his trick. You do not need flashsweat. Spoilers below.

There's an altar with a robe on it near him. Picking up the robe enrages him permanently, make him follow you all the way back to the fog gate. If done right, he'll lunge at you with one hand and hold onto the platform with that hand. Keep hitting the hand until he falls into the massive hole below. Then do a victory dance IRL.

You can still do it if you've already picked up the robe. Just go to the altar and make him follow you around like I said.

You may think you are absolutely screwed in this game, but there's often an item or action (or exploit :shifty: ) you can do that will make life a bit easier. It is very well put together in that regard.

hmmm, that would make life alot easier.

The other two bosses down there are also going to cause problems I think too.

Be warned though, if he's permanently aggro'd (and you died), you'll need to run really fast to the 'hidden' junction just up past the stairs on the right (otherwise he'll cook you with his giant flame attack). If you stand at the apex here, you can coax the boss into attacking, missing you and giving you time to get a few easy hits in. Rinse, wash and repeat. :datass:

That's exactly how I beat him. Easiest boss fight I've had in the game.

EDIT: Well.... I got him on my second attempt. First time he simply destroyed me. But when I tried again and ran back I ducked into the corridor and his attack just missed me, which let me get some hits on him. Baited him into doing it again with the same result. Repeated that five or six times and he was gone.

I did that but didn't realise it was cheap. Beat him first proper try though.

Gold hemmed cloak 4 lyfe, ended up beating most of the rest of the game wearing that including all DLC bosses... Proper armour is for pussies.

I too found that method thanks to an orange soapstone message left at the exact vantage point. Cheap but I lasted about 10 seconds otherwise.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Still in the Catacombs

Gave it a blast last night, I've killed all the necromancers, so the strawberry floating skellys stay down now, but it's still a banana splitish area to be in.

Did though, find a secret wall with a bonfire behind it that I've missed in ever playthrough before :fp:

Anyway, should have killed the boss, but instead tried to fight a titanite demon who wrecked me and I rage quited again. Will go back to it today, really need to get it done with, just hate the place, I think I hate it more than Blighttown

Any time someone mentions that area, I have to say that I hate the Tomb of Giants that follows it. I didn't find Blighttown that bad but the Tomb kept me at the edge of my seat every time I went through it. The second bonfire helped make it more bearable but I still ran like hell to avoid the crawling skeleton when I tried to get to Nito.

Yeah tomb of the giants is a banana splitish area too, but atleast its full of big things that don't instantly come back to life. I find them easier to kill, katana range helps.

It's also not got these strawberry floaters...

Got one of those cart wheels as a shield though last night, it's ridiculously heavy to use.

I'm still fighting my way through Sens Fortress. I've gotten a decent distance so far and the Lightning Spear has helped a lot (The chest looked dodgy as sin though, so I wisely bashed it before I opened it) but I've not made it to any bonfires yet.

Hopefully there's one not too far ahead as it's a pain in the arse having to work through it all again to get back to where I was.

It's pretty easy to miss. Once you're on the roof, you might want to look it up so that you don't have to go through everything again if you die.

Cool. Think it must be nearby then.
