If only you understood my longing to tell you who are source was on that. It really would, for want of a more professional and dignified term, “shut you up”. But we can’t reveal it and that’s life.

What I will tell you, with 100 per cent sincerity, is that six months ago both platform holders DID plan to reveal their new consoles this year. Then when it became apparent that one had changed its mind, making the commercial decision that its strong-selling hardware could continue delivering for another 12 months, the other followed suit, welcoming the extra R&D time.

The situation that left us in, however, was that both were left with the task of trying to rustle up a compelling E3 sales pitch for their existing hardware while keeping all the truly innovative and new stuff behind closed doors.

Hm.

A well deserved beating for Sony there.

Still shocked at Sony turning off Vitas life support machine live at E3.

The conference was a failure. A failure to save the Vita, a failure to boost the PSPlus and a failure to launch PSMobile. At least it was also a failed to be worse than Microsoft's conference.

While neither of the two conferences did anything to shock or surprise me, The Last of Us looked bloody fantastic.

Can't believe there was nothing from 'The Last Guardian' shown.

You sure have enjoyed sticking it into Sony in this thread, and around the forum.

Difference being Sony showed off 3 big AAA core games of theirs as opposed to MSs 1.

Not sure why MS didn't demo Forza Horizon, they sadly needed it and its there.

What 3 AAA titles?

Looking at this topic alot of the downers are coming from Vita owners, and rightly so but as someone who doesn't care for system it didn't effect me. The exclusives they have blew anything bar Halo 4 from Microsofts conference

Basically this. If I had a Vita I probably would have been disappointed, but I don't so i was happy with just the PS3 games they showed. The two big games they opened and closed the show with are brand new IPs, where as MS only showed Halo 4 and brief trailers for another Forza and Gears, nothing original at all.

I'm leaving both conference more interested in the multiformat offerings than the 1st party stuff, outside of Beyond, but that's hard to have much opinion on yet other than A) it looks nice & B) it was intriguing.

Last of Us isn't my cup of tea.

Can we stop arguing over who was the worst? Can't we just agree that they were all gooseberry fool so far? Apart from Ubisoft.

Beyond, not my thing. God of War, as EDGE said X, square X again. Last of Us, interesting.

None of them out this year either.
