This is fantastic, really.

When you're doing a mission, you can do whatever you like to do such as assassinate the target or any other methods without any stupid requests you must do during the mission like the previous one (Unity). It is all about your style how you approach the target and it is more freedom this time which it makes more fun to play.

The map itself is very enormous and you could actually see the Pyramids of Giza in the distance even I haven't visited that area yet. It is incredible.

Bayek - I think he's very interesting protagonist and it is too early to say if he's as good as Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Same here, dude. I wasn’t that interested but, having seen the stream of glowing reports here, it’s definitely a title that I’ll look out for in a new year sale.

Assassin's Creed Origins launch sales double Syndicate

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017- ... -syndicate

I have to say they have learnt a lesson about it and every two years cycle seems working. I am happy to have Watch Dogs 3 next year and then a new Assassin's Creed in 2019.

This is as good as black flag so far, story is harrowing stuff. It’s a technical show piece, just stunning.

I've still not headed to Alexandria yet. I'm taking it very easy.

My only criticism so far is that I really miss the helix menu. I loved how it showed you completion objectives. How do I know I haven't missed anything out now?!

That's Danny Dyer's favourite destination as well.

Played another few hours of this and it's easily the best ACreed game since 4. If it keeps going on like this it may be better than black flag. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at, everything is lush and the lighting and effects just push it to another level.

It has so many little touches, the footprints in the sand, shaking himself off when get out of the water, if you walk through a field with waste high flowers or grass he puts one hand out to feel it as he walks.

Walking through a cave with a torch is again stunning, I can't fault anything graphically at all, even the way the water disperses from your boat is so realistic showing a translucent quality to it when the sun hits it at the right angle.

I haven't found any repetitive stuff yet but im only about 6hrs in.

So many brilliant fine details. But then you get in a boat, and the sail is to the right and catching the wind, whichever way you turn. Considering sister series Watch Dogs has full wind-affected sailing mechanics, they could at least have animated the sails in this.

I agree.

I am currently into 35+ hours now and I think it is better than Black Flag. I can't say if it is any better than Assassin's Creed II/Brotherhood yet. So far, they've done it fantastically with Origins and the location of Egypt is what it makes so amazingly to explore.

I'm glad Assassin's Creed is back. :datass:

Finished the main campaign of this earlier on (I thought I'd finished it at least twice before I actually did!). I've loved it overall, it's been brilliant fun to play. It's pretty classic Assasin's Creed but really well refined.

I thought the new combat was fine (and the bows and arrows are superb!) but I did slightly miss the 'counter system' of the previous games - it felt more fitting to be such a cool fighter as an assassin, rather than the full on warrior that Bayek is.

Talking of Bayek, he's a terrific character, the best since Ezio and his story and emotional beats really keep the story together in my opinion; especially as the story does go on a fair bit. I probably shouldn't complain but there is almost TOO much to the game, and while it didn't outstay it's welcome it did seem a little stretched for the final act.

That said, I'll be going back for more! There's a lot of side missions and whatnot that I didn't do (I finished the story at Level 37)…and they're generally quite entertaining.

So yeah, it's a great game! It looks amazing - one of the best I've ever seen in that regard, I think - it plays really well, and I mostly loved the improvements to the core gameplay. And although it took an age to get to it, I really liked the way it sets up the origins (lol) of the brotherhood - especially the assassin's symbol.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

I’m really enjoying this as well. I’ve just finished up the main story missions in Memphis and the side missions are really enjoyable.

And I don’t quite understand how it looks so good. I’m playing it on PS4 Pro on a 4K TV and I’d never guess it’s not native resolution. Everything is totally crisp without a jaggy in sight.

Dat Ending. :datass:

Did anyone have any issues installing the disk copy of this on the Xbox One X. I've tried every suggestion but it keeps getting stuck at 2GB installed.

A whole load of stuff coming in December:

A new difficulty level - Nightmare
Horde mode
Optional enemy scaling
A "new surprise quest"
A new Trial of the Gods challenge - Sekhmet
And the return of the two previous Trials

Platinum. 8-)

Overall, it's a fantastic game. I think it's probably the best Assassin's Creed since Assassin’s Creed II/Brotherhood and the location of Egypt is looking fantastic. Attention to the details, it is incredible.

Farewell Bayek and Aya. I'll see you both soon.

Went back to this last night, it really is gorgeous looking. Finally have got to point now where the map will open up. Excited now to set off, although quests around me are ranked too high so need to level up a bit.
