But lighting the *pitch black* tombs yourself is half the fun!

Did one of the green exclamation mark side quests last night. That was...unexpected.

was that from Monster Hunter or Final Fantasy?

Is that the mission with the XV? If so, yeah, he's from FF XV.

I think I know the one you are talking about, but I had no idea the weird weapons and mount came from another game.

The mount :fp: So close and, yet, so very nightmare inducing.

Yep, shoddy workmanship indeed.
How the strawberry float is anyone supposed to get to the afterlife if they can't work out how to get out of the tomb due to the incessant darkness?

I only ever use the first camel as he's a real trooper and deserves respect.

Yep I used the first camel during the whole game until I completed it 100%. :datass:

Respect.

I don't like the Camel animation compared to the horses so I have the first horse I could buy, Good old Simpson.

Why didn’t they just hook their buildings up with proper electric lighting?

Imagine being able to build a giant pyramid but not being able to install energy saving lightbulbs. That’s the trouble with the ancient Egyptians, they had their priorities all wrong. :fp:

I see from Monkey Man's post in the Xbone thread:

Assassin’s Creed Origins – Season Pass Add-On 20% Pub Sale

Is the season pass worth buying? I am still loving this game, but don't want to bother buying a season pass if the DLC is shite.

I found one of the huge elephant arenas and went into it at about level 28 and the result was not pretty :slol: .
I'm level 35 now and I'm doing mainly side quests and the random helping missions about the map and I'm really loving this game.

Finished the main story last night, the end of the game dragged a bit but I did enjoy the final cut scene. Overall I loved it, I just wish Ubisoft would hire some decent writers as they could really elevate their games, none of the reveals meant anything to me which is a shame as the two main characters were very good. My only major gripe is the lack of stats, they've always been in the series as far as I know.

I'm not done with it yet, I went to try the DLC and kill all the Phylakes after a little break.

Been slowly working my way through this (I keep getting distracted by Master Chief Collection) so I'm not too far, but I'm putting more time in just now. Just met Cleopatra (Which was nice).

Loving the relationship between Bayek and Aya. Looking forward to seeing where that goes.

This is such a cool concept: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018- ... -thrilling

Next update (out on the 20th) will introduce... tours of ancient Egypt!

Very pleased about this. I knew about Discovery mode, but I hadn't read much about it. I'd half assumed it was just going to be a free-roam mode with occasional text boxes, but I'm much more interested now I know it's a proper structured set of tours.

EDIT: And it's funny how this development dovetails with the series' fictional Abstergo Entertainment. It'll be great if the tours are Abstergo branded.

Loves us all since 2008

Yours for £350.

edit: first YouTube comment: Why couldn't you properly center the logo and central figurine? Just why !?

They're not wrong  You can see they don't align in the still above.

The logo looks as if it's leaning a couple of degrees to the right, too.

I've just read about the discovery tour mode and it sounds amazing; I can't think that many games have offered such a great educational tool before.

Eurogamer wrote:With the main game wrapped and the DLC plans taken care of, a core group of developers have returned to Bayek's Egypt and opened it out, removing the fighting and the death and the missions and allowing you instead to wander the land freely and in no danger in a brand new mode, and stumble across - what's this? - 75 separate guided tours, rich in historical detail.

The team's calling it the Discovery Tour, and it's out on the 20th of February as a free title update for people who have bought Assassin's Creed Origins (it's also available as a paid standalone on PC). Man, it's a gorgeous, lavish, bewildering thing: a tool for examining this ancient world that Ubisoft has brought back to life. But it's also a fascinating glimpse into the gaps in the historical record - and how Assassin's developers navigate those gaps. It's a mea culpa, in manner of speaking, albeit an extremely generous and detailed mea culpa. It's the design team stepping forward to explain how they knew what they knew - and to talk, at times, about what they didn't know and couldn't find out.
