Really enjoyed Origins up to a point, there's quite a lot to like about it, but after about 40 hours the Ubi-fatigue kicked in. Never did finish it. Don't think I'll bother with Odyssey.

I'm beginning to get a bit bored, it's very samey in what you do and a bunch of the villas are copy and paste.

Hopefully I'm nearing the end and I'll finish it and not pack it in.

The map is simply too damn big for what is ultimately quite a shallow and repetitive experience.

I'm afraid you're not.

This game completely dampened my enthusiasm for AssCreed, I'd much rather play something like Yakuza which does far more with a world several orders of magnitude smaller. The overarching meta-plot about the first civilisation has been ground down to almost non-existence and to me was the important thing keeping these disparate time periods and protagonists together. Syndicate ended on a massive cliffhanger which got relegated to a graphic novel to resolve and they've chucked it all out in favour of starting again. I'm probably not going to bother with Odyssey at all.

It's a shame Origins nosedives into your typical Ubisoft grind fest, because it's a stunningly beautiful and highly polished game.

A lot of open world games are repetitive, one of my favs is Mad Max, but where Max succeeds and Origins fails is that Max's base gameplay mechanic remains consistently fun while occasionally kicking up moments of randomness (which are often amusing) completely out of the blue. And, of course, the world of Max is smaller and so much easier to swallow.

What I hate about Ubisoft games is that sense of accomplishment you feel after you've poured hours into it being dashed the moment you open up the world map only to discover you unlocked just a third of said map.

Binned it off, the same task with a varying size camp has done it for me, also 2 nor eorder peeps got added and it sounds like more will appear so yeah strawberry float that noise.

It started so well but they really drained the fun by making it so repeaty.

Think I got about as far as you did.

"Yay, I killed the last ashole, I am avenged!... Oh, wait, there's more? strawberry float that, I've got other games to play".

Went from a 9/10 to 7/10 game in that moment.

Yeah for me it was the combo of the game just throwing more people at you instead of making the camp harder or having to be a bit clever and then when he went my son is avenged and cleopatra just going "yeah this guy was part of it too" and him going "what! Well I must get him too" it's like dude at least try and not be malipulated

I did actually get to the last one on the "initial" list, but like you say they just kept throwing more at you. "Surprise, there's another bad guy!"

By then my character was rock hard so I didn't even have to sneak kill; I could just waltz in, kill all their body guards then drop the target. The Snake boss was cool, though, and the only one that really broke the monotony.

Yeah I'm lvl 33 I think so most stuff is easy enough and only made harder by them plowing waves of enemies at you. It wouldn't be so bad if the enemy got smarter or you had to be clever about getting in but your rally don't.

Oh well, on to something else.

Started this yesterday, my first AC game since 3 ( :dread: ). Looks gorgeous in HDR and I'm about to leave the first area.

So, much to my surprise, I suddenly find myself back into this.

I was rewarded a "Unicamel" for completing an artifact quest.

Im really enjoying this. Done a load of Alexandria today, bumped off the last of the targets (and am on my way to inevitably be given a load more).

I think I can see a pretty obvious twist coming
At some point you're going to have to assassinate your own wife

I've just hit 40 hours playtime now and according to the stats I've only done 50% of the content :dread:

I'm enjoying it but strawberry floating hell they need to trim a lot of this stuff down. The enemy bases as one example - do I really need to have so many of them and do I really have to kill the captains and loot a chest in every wun? Surely they could have had something different to do in each wun so they feel more like a quest and less like a cut and paste every time.

I loved it to start with but after a while I have in, it's too big for its own good.

Reading the posts on this page, I've just done the crocodile and it appears to be the same point where your fatigue set in.

It's just so overwhelming in scope, and seeing half the map still covered, knowing that each one is full of yet more cut and paste bases etc is a bit much.

Yeah that's what screwed me, that and when they started adding extra boss things. It would have been fine had been on the original list but to go "oh here have more" with a hint it will keep happening I just went strawberry float this I'm out.
