Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered edition is coming to PC and consoles

Surviving Mars with the aid of a sledgehammer

Vienna/Austria, March 29th, 2018; THQ Nordic Red Faction Guerrilla will be fully re-Mars-tered (pun proudly intended) and released on PC, PlayStation®4 and across the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X in Q2 2018. The game will go by the name of Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered and "destruction" will remain its middle name.

Fully reworked graphics – Heavily reworked textures and graphic features adding for example specular maps.
Improved shadow rendering
Improved Lighting
Shader & Postprocessing rework
Native 4k support for the finest up to date mars destruction experience ever

Also, apparently owners of the Steam version get this as a free upgrade, as with Skyrim Special Edition. RFG is only £14.99 so if you don't have it now, it's definitely worth getting.

Great game, glad to see a remaster when I thought the entire franchise was dead.

I'm not bothered about graphical improvements, if anything I'd prefer added destruction. This game was last gen, imagine what could be done now

Wonder if this is to generate interest for another instalment.

They've been doing this for a while with other THQ IP, doing comparatively quick remasters to gauge interest for the future.

Guerrilla was fun but the original was miles better.

I'm probably the only person in the world who liked Armageddon.
Though even I'll admit it made a big mistake removing the open world and going for more confined environments.

It's a real 6/10. No way a bad game, but it really should have built on the previous game in the series. There was room for improvement with Guerilla, they opted to just scale it down bizarrely.

I never played it, it just looked like the opposite of what I wanted in a sequel

It is literally a song about Red Faction Guerilla, written by Chris Remo from the Idle Thumbs podcast about 10 years ago - the amazement is that a developer took a decade-old silly fan song and used it for actual promotional material for the game.

Cool.

Tough crowd.

Think I'll have to get this based on that song.
