Rape seems to be Tiberius' answer for everything

Dad's mad at him, rape his slave/lover
Caesar is angry, rape him from behind

What is this kids problem?

Really enjoyed episode 9. This episode proves that Spartacus can deliver on an emotional level as well as the OTT violence. Good stuff. Sad that it will be the finale next week though. :(

I'm really looking forward to the last episode now, this entire season has been fantastic. Could sort of see Crixus' death coming though, there wasn't really anything immediately personal for Spartacus to fight for anymore, AKA for the audience to be focused on, leading to the finale. And of course, the way they said goodbye before parting ways.

My word that finale was special, and incredibly touching too. :(

To be more specific...

Where to begin?

The whole "I AM SPARTACUS" deception was a nice nod to the original movie I thought, and I did appreciate the quiet banter between Crassus and Spartacus before things really kicked off. It was gut wrenching seeing so many characters being offed, and even though until this point I had been hoping Naevia would meet some horrid end (due to her being a strawberry floating tool since learning to fight) I did feel awful when she was finally struck down. It was also horrendous seeing Gannicus crucified, and you couldn't help but hope he would survive such a fate like Agron. But alas it was not to be, at least he saw Oenomaus and the arena again though, even if it was just a hallucination.

I'm glad Spartacus at least didn't fall to the hand of Crassus, though I thought it was a hell of a cheap way for him to be defeated, especially considering he was literally holding Crassus' life in his hands. If the horse straddling rescue party had only been a few seconds earlier.

The final scene definitely brought a lump to the throat, the music, Spartacus' departing speech and of course the end credits definitely would bring a tear to the eye. The final touch of showing Andy Whitfield's take on Spartacus as the credits closed was definitely a nice touch indeed.

But yeah I digress, a really moving episode indeed.

Ah, what an episode! So good!

They should make a spin-off showing Caesar's rise to power.

How much does the actor playing Crassus look like the bust:

Excellent finale, a nice mix of chatting & action with a variety of endings for all the characters. Great credits as well.

Truly great finale, tugged at the heartstrings :(
Nice touch with the end credits too.

Are they planning a Caesar/Crassus/Pompey spin-off or is that just a rumour?

The spin-off is only a rumour at the moment. Spartacus creator Steven DeKnight won't be involved, he's developing Incursion, a R-rated Sci-Fi War Drama for Starz, not been greenlit yet though - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/1 ... 54897.html

Brilliant ending to the series, and the show as a whole. The multiple references to the first episode from S1 were quite clever (anyone remember the shield?), and while Spartacus' actual defeat seemed a bit of a cop out, it seemed right that he actually did defeat Crassus and got to have his speech among friends before he died.

Amazing ending for a great show. Gutted it's over.

At the beginning I saw it as a fun guilty pleasure kind of show but now by the end I'd say its gone on to become one of the best things on tv. Brilliant. As has been said, the credits were a great touch.
