Hi guys

I'm looking at getting the gf a new speaker dock for Xmas, I've been out of the electronics loop for a while,

I've been looking at this...are they still decent?

It's probably better than most speaker docks at that price but it'll not be amazing.

If you're feeling flush, there's this

£200 off atm too.

I'd recommend a bluetooth (I know) speaker over a dock, means you can keep the phone on your person while listening which is ideal for parties etc and you can easily connect other devices. Normally you can connect using an AUX cable and charge over USB too. I have a TDK A33 which was about £100, it's pretty awesome :D

£200 is too much for one present. But thanks mate.

Ario Bluetooth is a good feature. But it's not majorly important. I've heard the beats pill are decent, but this Bose one is cheaper.mans I know Bose are quality.

I would go Bose. They are known for quality and that one looks funky too.

Excellent mate thanks.

She also has asked for some on ear headphones. Off topic, but any advice? Nothing to expensive. £50 max. It's just for her to watch eastenders on her tablet.

I think it's ugly, I don't like all the holes that make up the speaker grilles, much prefer either a mesh or exposed drivers although that does reduce durability somewhat (I live in fear of my £400 speakers getting damaged as they have exposed drivers, even though they made from kevlar).

Sorry to go off on a tangent there.

I'm the other way, Im not a fan of the meshs and stuff I think they look dull.

They are probably better for sound quality but I don't really worry about that all that much, as long as it sounds alright and isn't buzzing or crackling I'm happy

I certainly wouldn't have speakers with exposed drivers if I had kids (or cats), they wouldn't last 5 minutes.

Yeah I imagine that wouldn't end well.
