The Right Honourable Member for Brad Forde is correct and I apologise for this oversight.

We didn't know how good we had it with Speaker Drummy

I confess I'm not caught up on the game thread yet but to my mind you played a decent game and raised some good points...?

Oh thanks for the compliments guys! I guess in my mind playing a decent game as a villager =bagging wolves, and none of the people I raised suspicions around were actually bad, and thus I am rubbish.

That said though - I did make a conscious effort to get Lynch votes in early, even if I wasn't that sure (eg SD64 and Vermi) just to shake some trees and maybe leave us with some voting patterns later in the game.

Also as vocal as I was about you Drummy I didn't suspect you that much. Again it was a bit of a tree shaking tactic, but I was conscious of how annoying it would be if you were playing a blinder as a wolf!

NEO The World Ends With You. A very good JRPG. Switch and PS4. That's where MKN comes from.

Agreed that Moggy is looking heavily sus. Don't think Mommy false claimed though. Kinopio being an idiot speaker

Mommy role claiming Noble then.

Moggy I think is reading too much, perhaps, into the wording of the role descriptions - I think OR has just used "a" or "the" based on what would make most sense in English. i.e. you're THE chief whip because it's a singular elected position IRL; you're A noble because IRL there may be many nobles. It could follow that this extends to the numbers in this game, but it's not a guarantee*. Also the fact that it's confirmed that there are 13 MPs should make it possible to count how many of each role there could be?

Moggy's been consistently getting roles wrong, or having to have things explained to him. He was on my radar for that yesterday.

I concur

I'll return to RKN when I actually finish it, but I enjoy repping a reference that no one understands (present company excluded)

Exactly. The multiple number of MPs, Conformists and Fanatics are all declared, you can easily work out from that and the total number of players that every other role is a one off.

Nothing. It's just 'new' but pretentious.

Anybody suggesting to off Kinopio, who has a very solid role claim, even though he's an idiot speaker, is very suspicious to me.

What really puzzled me the most was the at times extreme lack of common sense applied in the thread. Examples:

  • People stubbornly refusing to understand that the wolves must have been able to PM to discuss strategy and kill targets
  • How someone openly trying to stick out (Kezzer) is less likely to be a wolf than someone trying to blend in (Dan), (yes they may both be innocent but the principle itself is correct)
  • People failing to understand that a seer with no communication outlet (PCA) is practically useless

So much smh

I have to disagree on the seer point - the standard ruleset for mafia is to not give the town any private communication and the seer is a classic role. You either stay hidden and use your knowledge to try and move the voting in a good direction (and leave some clues as to your results in case you die and your role is revealed), or at some point you decide to go public. A seer does not need private communications to be useful!

I totally understand and appreciate your point, but this isn't a standard community, this is GRcade.

I think it's indicative of just how strongly, and swiftly, individual communities become locked into their own mechanisms. Clearly there are significant differences between the "classic" GR rules and the "classic" SONM rules. But that's not to say either is right or wrong or better than the other!

This game gets better and better! I thought that Kezzer was a goner and it's interesting to see that the vote rig was independent of the seer claim.

Herbi  :fp: I also thing that he's quite disingenuous with his claim that he edited out 'Majority Voted Act' from the tally. When he did this, he also added his vote to lynch Kezzer. He expressly highlighted his vote but not his Act proposal.

In fact, given that IPA was winning the vote, I'd say that this is because he knew that another candidate would run and become Speaker instead. My conclusion is that he lied about his role and is a Conformist. This relies on him knowing about the backup roles and I'm not sure if they're a staple role in this type of game so it could have been a bold play or I'm wrong and he just wanted to be Speaker to have a role he liked.

Lying about roles is why I agreed with Kezzer that SSA should not be passed until a role call is done.

I'll talk about it more after the game but I tried balancing specifically for how GRcade tends to play - there is one particular way I think the game could be pretty unbalanced that I think is unlikely to actually happen!

And by the way, I don't think I ever actually played mafia on (S)ONM! I was aware of the games (they always looked a bit role madness from the outside?), but my intro was first irl and then on a different forum entirely.

The only mafia games I've ever played were on the MS Paint Adventures forum. :shifty:

I meant to bring it up in the thread, but why have a few people changed their profile pics?
