This may have been posted when the news was first announced but PlayStation have confirmed that Spider-Man PS4 will now be canon, an official part of the Marvel multiverse continuity.

As I understand it there is a big Spider-geddon storyline coming in the comics in September & October. It's a crossover that features the main Spider-man and the alternate versions from the different multi-verses. What this means is that the PS4 Spider-man is 'real' but from one of these alternate universes. My guess is that because Sony only have the rights to the Spider-man family of characters then Thor and Iron Man won't be showing up. But with the release of the Venom movie in October I'm hoping he will.

I want this but have no time and too much to play so I will probably wait until Sony's 12 Days of Christmas when they sell the digital version for (hopefully) £29.99!

That's my thinking too, Venom. I like the look of the game but I'm not in a rush to play. I'll await a discount!

Folk have been getting the game early and already spoilers are appearing, so be careful.

Insomniac has confirmed that the game will take 20 hours to complete which is pretty lengthy, especially compared to the rather short Arkham games.

Is anyone else reading the prequel novel to the game, Hostile Takeover? I wasn't expecting much but I'm a third of the way in and it's quite entertaining so far. No idea why they decided to release a novel and not a comic though.

For example it covers Spider-Man's first meeting with Yuri Watanabe who looks like a major part of the game, and Martin Li. It was less than £4 on Kindle and I'm enjoying it enough so far to warrant that price.
