High Interest Points!:
-not many QTEs in overall game
-R2 must be pressed each time you shoot web (aka you don’t auto shoot repeatedly if you hold the button)
-at least 21 costumes

Impression summary:
-super impressive and satisfying feel
-Starts in Peter’s apartment
-Swinging starts quick after cutscene
-more satisfying than Spider-Man 2
-high momentum emphasized and easy to maintain
-opening reminiscent of Sunset Overdrive feel
-Peter wears wristbands always and puts his webshooters on them when he changes into costume
-special animations to keep momentum for things like fire escapes, swinging at walls, etc
-Can’t swing without buildings or trees, but can web zip almost anywhere
-feels very player controlled
-moving downward on buildings has very different animations than going up buildings
-no hurting civilians (punch button changes to interact button)
-tons of details like squirrels, rooftop parties
-lifelike world like “GTA”
-low pop-in
-controls are responsive above all and balance with physics and agency
-UI normally present
-R2 is the “go” button (sprint, swing, wall run)
-X is zip and follows where you point left stick
-L2 is slow-mo aiming precision on time limit
-snipers exist in missions
-stealth somewhat doable
-X while zipping leaps
-can get near a crime without engaging
-combat unlockables exist as you progress
- Hold O approaching a corner during wall run to web zip around the corner

-missions are ranked for how well you do
-points earned for good moves and takedowns are spent on suits and movesets
-unique suit powers unlocked can be equipped to any other suits you have previously unlocked
-started game with classic suit not white logo suit
-designs white suit for reason, but won’t say why
-Peter is a poor adult scientist but won’t say where
-Peter knows Harry
-Stark Tower and Wakandan embassy are in NYC
-no signs of non-Spider-Man characters though
-Fisk is first villain
-Mr Negative is central to at least early Act
- Aunt Mae works at shelter run by Mr Negative
-MJ is active thought not combatant in her missions, not just walking around and hiding
-MJ knows Peter is Spider-Man
-MJ and Peter split 6 months before game and reunite to work together at start of game
-Venom is a “cool character” says Insomniac
-Insomniac “nailed” the Spider-Man game
-Engages and slows down to let you know Peter, a la Arkham games
-plays “amazingly”
-unknown how long the game is
-side missions and crimes are different as the game progresses (different toward the end, new enemies etc)
-Spider-Man is full of quips and humor
-suit is designed for this game and it’s story
-blue suit parts are active material, Red is Armor, white is unknown protective material
-suit is very thought out, knuckles covered with specific material, boots blue etc
-many suits
-they want you to be the Spider-Man you love, so costumes are pretty wide open and appear in cutscenes appropriately
-at least 21 costumes
-‘want to play it again’

Glad you don't have to wear that default suit.

Future Foundation, Spider-Man 2099 and USM suits please.

Can’t wait for this and to learn more about the Avengers game too, hopefully this E3

I know they shouldn't but these different Spidey outfits really draw me in . I'm not planning to get the game but I've no doubt that a Noir or 2099 set of threads will make me take another look...

... . Looks cool, Milner! I like the basic, all-black Spidey outfit, that has appeared in previous games, too. I believe that there are a few "special" outfits in this new game and so far we've seen the Spider-Punk, Noir and Infinity War versions.

I think they have said they have 20+ costumes in the game, hoping Spider-Ham is one of them

I honestly couldn’t care less about the costumes. Seriously, is that a big deal for you guys?

'Course, KingK... but I do like a load of cool outfits to don, too .

Scarlet Spider is the best costume.

Yeah gameplay is King, but the costumes can be a cool addition. I remember Spider-Man 2 on the original PlayStation gave you loads of different costumes to play with, and some of them had different abilities too. I think it's just s cool addition for fans of the comics, although I hate the principle of having material exclusive to pre-orders.

Sony seem to be going all out with marketing for this
