That control scheme ruled on Wii. Easily better than dual sticks.

Sadly I don't think that will work as there is no sensor bar. But doesn't skyward sword etc not actually use that and depends entirely on gyro? It could work with a re-centre button but I wouldn't want to have it going awry in the middle of a match like that.

Skyward Sword did indeed use the Wii Motion Plus for the pointer rather than the IR & sensor bar iirc

Cool. Hopefully it's possible, however the sensor bar set up is what likely kept it on track for Metroid. And why skyward sword needed resetting all the time.

SS actually resets itself overtime (if I remember correctly). When you use an item it always starts centered and the position your in when you do that is the new neutral settings. So most cases of the user having to reset is down to moving or not paying attention when selecting things. Grand Slam Tennis was the similar but you had to return the Wiimote to the neutral position inbetween shots. If you didn't it would find a new neutral point but this wouldn't be where you would want it and thus the controls would go nuts.

Yeah, it's all too much for the player to think about though. Hopefully they have the option for the pros who know how this stuff works.

Friends occasionally have issues with the ps3 six-axis as well, making them constantly roll in Motorstorm or spin in circles in Flower.

I think Nintendo do an OK job pointing it out.

Really glad we're getting another global testfire, will be great to have something new to play so soon after launch and the one for the first game really sold me on it so hopefully this one will have the same impact on new Switch owners.

Also, found this the other day, may well have been posted before but the idea amused me! I was just thinking the other day whilst playing the original Splatoon about how a lot of aspects of it remind me of Mario Sunshine.

Now, I've not been following switch related stuff very much, so forgive me, this isn't meant to be trolling or antagonising..

...but, why doesnt it look any better graphically?
It looks identical to my splatoon experience on my Wii U.

I mean, splatoon was a good looking game anyway, and I suppose basic enough in aesthetic that would make it hard to improve, but this looks like it could just easily be a Wii U title?

Still I'm sure it'll be fun and most certainly enjoyed by many, so let's all be cool to one another :)

I thought exactly the same but a lot of the impressions I've read have said it looks a lot better in the flesh and that videos don't do it justice. I can only assume that is in terms of the effects and the detail within the levels as there's not really a lot they could add to the character models.

The thing I'm probably looking forward to most is more music.

Have they mentioned anything about bringing back maps/weapons/accessories from the original game?

They've only said all the subweapons are new. I bet they will include some of the original weapons, actually I'm pretty sure they've confirmed at least a few.
