I think I have completely missed that point... so, the U version allows for local two-player mode but the Switch version doesn't? .

Splatoon had a 1v1 mode but worth noting it was added after the release date so they could do the same with 2

That's pretty neat. I dunno... I like the Switch but I have a feeling feeling that some of the big games that have arrived are just very slightly better than the U versions... and maybe not so good in some aspects.

But, hey, that's an off-the-cuff thought and I'll continue it in the Switch thread if needs be.

That's interesting, I didn't know that.

Obviously the improvements on Zelda and MK8 are minor but I think Splatoon is definitely an upgrade. And let's not forget Nintendo have a different model for Splatoon. In 12 months the game will have a decent amount more content than it does now.

I'm not aware of this, what's still to come for splatoon 2?

Went up to A rank in Splat Zones and am getting absolutely destroyed. Lost 5 out of 6 matches. Not fun at all. Decided to take a break with Turf War and got teabagged :x . I went up to A in RainMaker too, but it rotated before I got a chance to play a game. Going to be depressing losing to level down to have enjoyable matches again.

I'm 40 hours plus now, and I've only just finished the third sector of the single player campaign. I'm going to plow through it asap, after reading about the Hero Replica weapons, and being splatted by them many times.

Yeah but the WiiU local multiplayer was rubbish, Splatoon is not meant as a 1v1 game

I'm not necessarily after 1v1 just the option for split screen.

Agreed that split screen regular splatoon would be excellent

I just don't think it's an advantage the first game has at all

How does everyone rank the online modes out of curiosity?

For me it's definitely:
Turf
Splatzones
Tower Control
Rainmaker

I've still yet to play Splat Zones  it's built up into this big thing for me now.

I think Salmon Run is a great mode too, shouldn't be overlooked.

Salmon Run > Turf War > Tower Control > Rainmaker > Amiibo photo mode >
That DDR minigame > Pressing buttons during the matchmaking screen to jam along to the music >>>>>>>>>>>> Splat Zones

Salmon run would be good if there wasn't the whole can't rank with friends of lower level stuff and the opening time garbage. Unnecessary padding.

Surely they could just drop it to 720p for local multiplayer.
