Cool, I hope they bring back the original maps as well, put as much of the original content in as possible

I kind of think that won't do that, so that it feels fresh and justifies a sequel. What I think they'll do is do them as dlc after being balanced for the new weapons and people start to miss the old ones. They have said this game will again have 12 months of free dlc.

That's good to hear, hopefully it will be fully loaded at launch rather than missing modes like last time

I think that might be the reason for it not launching right away, as for that reason a lot of people seemed to pass on it last time (as it stands is a bloody awesome package for the 20 quid I paid). They've featured a few game modes so hopefully they'll be there at launch. :)

I'm guessing you'll again have to reach level 10 to play ranked though, as it really is infuriating playing with people that can't even do the controls on your team. It's really easy for a team to be let down by a dumb decision like going awol at a critical moment in Rainmaker for example (like on the opposite side of the map, painting ink to charge special etc). My main concern is people making less use of the map to make tactical advances or retreats, or squid jumping to opportunistic spaces.

Have they shown anything of the single player? The first one showed potential that they could make something great

Quick question about Splatoon 1 - does it have a decent single player mode, or is this game only about the multi-player?

It was decent enough but it was really about the multiplayer, I'm hoping the sequel improves upon the ideas from the original.

It did have a cool final boss though

The single player in Splatoon 1 is fantastic. The only possible criticism is that it's not huge but it's so enjoyable that it's hard not to recommend it.

Splatoon's singleplayer is good and follows the Nintendo formula of constantly throwing new stuff at you so it never gets tired, but it only steps up to truly great for the final boss - which is on another level to everything that comes before it.

Ah, good to hear that Splatoon's single player is worth while.

I'll have to give it a go. Splatoon is another one of those Wii U games that I bought but never really played, apart from a quick few multiplayer matches.

I'm really looking forward to this. I always felt I never played splatoon as much as I wanted to, the lack of ability to play in handheld mode was the main issue for me.

When does the testfire end? Is it only live on Saturday and Sunday? I'm working all day both days and will have zero chance to play, so hoping it's running on Monday as well.
