[Connection lost :-(]

Edit: Back in on Celer. That's two disconnections I've had in this session.
Edit2: Celer is back :toot: .

Definitely switching back to the MG. Wide splat which quickly gets you to your special and I do prefer the curlers :shifty:

Woah! That was brilliant fun but an hour is enough for me... it is intense!

Thanks for the games, chaps. I'll be up for more splatting in the future weeks :toot: .

Good games everyone! I got booted from the lobby after a match for some reason and couldn't get back in!

Need to get some new, good gear, I got some new gear but none of it has the quick ink fill ability so it all feels like I'm constantly trying to refill

That's the one. Had 2 before that which wouldn't work that one worked straight from the box.

Played this for about four or five hours in total. Had a friend sitting next to me using his Switch and playing online. Probably had my best set of results wth the Aerospray:

I can't remember an online multiplayer game I've hammered like this. I'm normally quite tentative about going online, especially as a solo player without comms, but the paint mechanic means you can always be doing something useful.

The Aerospray is broken in Turf War and you should feel bad for using it :x :x :x

Nah, that's an impressive result to be fair.

Just did one better. Was playing on my lunch break (I have a problem) and go a 9 match win streak and something like a 17.5/18 freshness rating:

Image

What ranking does it give you at 20.0? I was playing with a friend and it gave him great satisfaction when it placed him on the opposite team and he stopped me winning ten in a row.

It's quite good sometimes being randomly on separate teams. Or maybe I'm just really competitive and want him to lose.

Is there a way to see your overall win percentage? Can't seem to get hogged than 34-16 when it's 50 games, as you're often replacing a win with a win, or a win with a defeat and lowering your ratio.

Gee, Parksey - that really is quite some record!

I played for the first time last night and then joined in with the GR session. It was tremendous fun! I think it takes a while to get used to the speed of the action and to discover how things work. I'm still using the "starter" paint gun at the moment... it is kinda neat but seems quite weak against some of the weapons that other players use. I'm finding that it's best to travel through the ink in squid form rather than running about in the open. At the end of the night, I had a record of Won 8 Lost 13. I did worse in the GR games... perhaps the skill level had jumped up a bit!

Some of the powerful guns that some players used were tough to battle against. In particular, I got bombarded by (I think) "Tetra Bombs" and something which looked like mines that swam through the ink towards me! Celer seemed to have loads of these and they were hard to avoid  .

I noticed that you can get secondary weapons but I don't think I have one? Do you have to get to a certain level to be able to do this?

What do you mean by secondary weapon? You have your main gun, you sub weapon (Press R, usually bombs) and then your special which you fill the gauge in the top right to use

Are you talking about grenades or specials? Hit R while your ink is full(ish) and you'll throw a grenade. If you ink enough turf & get kills without dying, your special meter will fill and you'll be able to hit R stick in to use it -- with the starting gun it gives you and your team armour, but other guns have missiles and jetpacks and all sorts.

Ah... I'd thought you could carry a second weapon but perhaps not. Using the starter gun, I saw a gauge which filled up and I could press then press R3 to activate it - it gave me "ink armour" for a few seconds but this didn't seem to protect me much. I didn't throw any bombs at all... perhaps I need to check the controls?

Edit: I'm wondering if perhaps I didn't try pressing R at all... hence no ink bombs! I will have to try that out tonight :) .

Ink armour takes a second to activate (you can't use it reactively) and protects your whole team from the next shot they take (but only one shot).

My favourite special so far is the Splashdown. Managed to get two people at once with it last night somehow despite my barely working controls.

Ah, okay - thanks, Karl. I guess it doesn't provide a lot of protection when Celer was bombarding me :x  .

But there was literally a mandatory tutorial which told you how to use bombs...

Good splatting last night, I played for about half an hour with some of you guys :toot:

There's an update for the game. Think it fixes an exploit in the single player but not sure what else.
