Was hoping to find out when the next Big Run event was as I really want at least a silver Cohozuna statue for my locker.

I'm gonna be getting back into Splatoon :toot:

. Have ordered a copy in a sale (£29 from Amazon). I rarely play shooters - especially online ones - but Splatoon seems a wee bit easier to pick up in that you can help the team by laying down some paint even if you're not that good.

I watch my son playing this and it's not quite like that anymore - at least not in ranked battles.

I don't play it myself. I loved the original Splatoon and this is better, but I fear I'm too old and slow for it now.

Oh, I'm sorry. At least I saved you some cash. The single player campaign is very good, but I don't think it warrants buying the game.

Hey, Octo, s'all good, man! It was a bit of an impulse order; thinking back, one of the reasons I didn't get it at launch was because I knew I'd be a bit ropey at it. It's not like I don't have enough stuff to be getting on with :fp:

Ranked battles have always been like that. It still works that way in turf mode. This hasn't really changed between any Splatoon games. A new ranked mode got added in 2 and theyv'e added different formats (like Series and League Battle) but turf mode still works exactly like it has always done.

And there's the Splatfest this weekend, so Turf War gets the beautiful night time setting.

I wonder if they will include the original Splatoon campaign as part of Inktopolis in Wave 1? Just having a version of the city you can wander round seems a bit….pointless on its own
