Excellent, I'm gonna check that out.

I did notice they have some Oasis which Spotify never had.

Checked out Grooveshark the other day, pretty impressed. Although it's not quite as easy finding full albums - seems you have to rely on another user to make the album playlist or do it yourself by searching for the tracks individually. Oh, and (bafflingly) no Smashing Pumpkins.

Still good though.

strawberry float off Spotify, you diseased has-been.

Indeed. What they are yet to realise is that there are always free alternatives when they see the dollar signs. Cheers for the recommendation Taf.

Plus they have Metallica and AC/DC. Win.

They have whatever users upload to the service, which is why it's free (and why the quality varies so much). It's pretty much a pirated music streaming service, so it's only a free alternative in the same way any illegal download is. That's also how it has music from labels who have yet to agree any kind of streaming deal with anyone.

No love for We7? It seems pretty legit and has complete albums instead of Grooveshark's patchwork.

WE7's a really good Spotify replacement, but the favicon being animated really annoyed me. Desktop applications ftw.

We use that at work whenever we fancy having a bit of music in the office.

I've used it a bit. It's pretty good!

I never used Spotify all that much though truth be told, so the new changes don't affect me too much.

I caved and went for Unlimited.

I do not regret that decision.

I've been using it a bit since Spotify went to bollocks. We7 and Grooveshark between them have most of what I'm looking for.

One problem with We7, and it's not to be underestimated: I was listening to Absolute Dissent by Killing Joke, and at the bottom of the screen it said "You might also like...James Blunt...Coldplay".

I was so offended, I performed a quirkafleeg.

Apps are now Live, limited selection though. Pitchfork and Songkick seem the best at the moment.
