I'm increasingly cautious about this remake; I'll be awaiting reviews before laying out any money. I do want it to be excellent.

What are the odds that the delay has been instituted to put all the games on discs?

This was the rumour on Resetera when the delay was announced

The fact they actually expected people to be happy about downloading 2 & 3 was ridiculous to be honest.

If that's the reason for the delay then it'll be worth the wait for myself, always prefer having nearly everything on the cart/disc if possible.

Basically all of Spyro 1 and some of Spyro 2 & 3 is on disc, with the Day 1 patch needed to get all the level.

Sucks of those without the internet.

You would be forgiven for thinking this is releasing unfinished...

Did anyone else pre-order from GAME?

Looking at the item now, I can't see any mention of the exclusive pre-order bonus pack any more. I don't know if this is because they've sold out, or it has been affected/cancelled after the product delay. Worth checking out for anyone interested.

I'll get in touch through Live Chat tomorrow, hopefully get this sorted out.

I’ll probably get this with the Sainsburys double up event in a few weeks (you can double the value of your nectar points, making this up to half price if you have enough)

Did anyone get this today? Sainsburys have it for £29.99 so it only cost me £15 in Nectar points :datass: bargain

Waiting for a hopefully eventual PC release, with any luck it won't be a year's wait like Crash was!

Do report back with impressions :)

Will do! I'll probably stream it tonight from about 6:30/7:00.

So far not good though as I am downloading the controversial day 1 update. Or at least I would be if Xbox wasn't a slow piece of gooseberry fool and would actually start installing it from the disc and downloading the update.

Spyro 1 is as good as the original. I'm loving playing through it. Going through the levels I'm getting plenty of "I remember this" moments. I think I might be half way through it already, though I know there's things I'm missing out on, so maybe not. The loading times do seem to match the original PS1 game as well, which... I really don't understand.

Why, though, do achievements have to pop up in the top left corner instead of the usual lower center?

I think you can change the location, I seem to remember having a similar problem on Rock Band where it was the lower center and covered up important game information so I switched it to the top corner.

I have just tried launching the game which has now forced the 200MB install and 42GB download. Xbox

That'd be in the game options, right?

I’m pretty sure the achievements are all done on a system level. At least that’s how I think I did it. It would have been console settings? That was before they removed the snap feature though and you can place the overlays in certain areas of the screen

EDIT: just googled it and it looks like a Microsoft allowed developers around the release of Rock Band 4 to choose where achievements popped up on the screen so I guess it was actually a game patch that moved it and I’m misremembering it as me changing it. So maybe the developers of this chose the location for a reason? Maybe something important happens in the lower center during the game that can’t be obscured by notifications?

I cancelled the preorder as this game don’t have any subtitles.

Seriously?

There's absolutely no excuse to not have subtitles on a game with any voice work whatsoever in 2018.

Yeah, I saw that Seven and Doeragynn cancelled for the same reason, Wedgie. A great shame!

Tried the opening of each game, and first impressions are very positive.

Hugely impressed with the graphical work (even if a couple of the character models look a little odd), Spyro's voice sounds right and the controls feel spot-on. Load times feel a little excessive, and some of the jingles I remember (like the fairy zap) aren't there, but seems like the game has been handled well.

Hopefully the subtitles can be added in with a patch, seems a strange omission.

Really?! I’m sure the PSX versions had subs. That sucks. There’s not even that much talking in the game so it’s not like they had much to transcribe :fp:
