How much does the PS4 capture/stream with PSVR? Will it capture all the microphone input and such?

If your streaming direct from the system and as long as everyone has their PS4 set to share their voice on streams then it should.

Well the PS4 version is out on Tuesday, which is also my first day off work for 4 days, so I've got Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to play next week.

Might be worth deciding now who takes which positions.

I think we've got,
Captain
Tactical
Helm
Engineering

Right?

I work in the evenings during the week so won't be back until just after 9 at the earliest, sorry.
As I said I'm fine with any station.

I'm genuinely at the point where I'm ready to drop cash on PSVR a Camera and Move controllers. This game has pushed me into "I'm ready for one of these" territory.

But....... It's a lot of money and I can't really justify the expense right now...... hnnnnn :x

Depends what you've already got.

If absolutely nothing, £700-1000 for a PC then another £700-800 for a headset and controllers.

I've got the pc with a vr ready card... but £7-800 for a headset and controllers? That's outrageous! Is that for occulus? Isn't there a cheapo option?

Occulus is the cheapo option.

That's not right, the price has dropped on Oculus, the bundle is now just under £600. Its still expensive, but a little less than it was. Headset on its own is now £500.

EDIT - Vive is £759

I'd better get saving.

This game has so much potential. I've never used modern equipment, but couldn't the game actually work just as well without the vr? Standard FPS controls would allow for looking and even movement around the bridge, with a mouse pointer providing even more precision...? Okay, we wouldn't have all the hand-waving but, especially not having experienced it personally, I can't help feeling this deserves a wider audience.

You could probably say that about most VR titles, but then you're breaking the whole immersion angle. In other games that's less of a factor as you're playing as a game character. The whole point of Bridge Crew is that you are there on the bridge. Without the VR it would lessen the whole experience far more than removing the VR from something like Batman Arkham VR.

There's a feature of the PSVR that makes it stop working if it detects it's being used by a poor person  .
It doesn't even really like being linked to a normal PS4 but just about accepts it.
