The experience me and Peter had with some random guys last night left me confident that the community for this is going to be pretty good too. We only had one person leave during the matchmaking, and that was because he was trying to get his brother to join the game and someone else joined first, so it was understandable he'd want to leave in that circumstance. Everyone was friendly and we all had a good laugh. It's surprisingly easy to get into character once you've got the hang of your station.

I'm pretty sure Laga said he'd be filming (I have no idea if that's the right term for doing video's of gaming as I'm old and grumpy and don't know anything about this new fangled streaming stuff) next time we play we just need 2 more people for a ship full of GRCadians.

Did I say I'd film? :slol:

The best person to record/stream is probably whoever is playing Captain since they get a much better overall view of things that are going on. The other stations are a little more tucked in their own bubble.

Yeah, ideally you'd want the Captain to stream it. Though if you were all to stream it, we could potentially take the video of all four stream and cut it together into something like an actual episode.

Peep Show does Star Trek.

I've never done streaming or anything before.
So what do you do? Setup your PS4 to streak to YouTube or something and it acts as both a livestream and records it?

I think Youtube will save streams. I know Twitch automatically archives your streams (For two weeks I think) so you can go back to them.

You just need to set up your streaming settings on the PS4 and make sure everyone has their voice set to be shared on streams.

Will have to give it a whirl.
We need an opening monologue too.

These are the voyages of the USS GRCade. It's continuing mission, to rustle new Jimmies...

I'm probably gonna have a VR and this by the end of June, so I'll be up for joining in some continuing missions as well. Can you cause a deliberate Warp Core breach? I always had fun doing that in TNG: A Final Unity.

I think Peter barely managed to avoid a Core Breach or two last night.... ;)

I was the best engineer to ever grace a red shirt I think you'll find and the warp core never once dipped below 25% integrity.

The ship was on fire like 90% of the time  :P

That's just to make it more homely and nice and warm.
I wasn't worried in the slightest.

Thinking I will pick this up tomorrow if you guys are likely to stick with it for a while? Might move my psvr upstairs to maximise play opportunity. That being said, Friday and Saturday nights were being touted earlier and I'm unlikely to be able to make those times (not after 7pm anyway), most other nights are good for me. Do you guys see yourself playing on other evenings also?

For me it'll vary week to week as I work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and I can only play on my days off.

Cool, that may well fit in with my schedule frequently.

What would I need to buy to get this in the full experience? PSVR and Move controllers? Would I also need to get a PS camera?

Yes you need the camera as it's a requirement for VR.

By all accounts move controllers are strongly recommended but in no way required (dual sticks control arms). If my revised layout allowing me to play psvr upstairs does not give me the required distance from the camera then I will be resorting to ds4. Bit of much rather use the moves for a game like this where you are actually moving your avatars hands.

I haven't tried using the DS4 on this yet, but I can't imagine playing it without the move controllers. They're definitely the more immersive way to play. Plus they allow you to wave to people in the Briefing Room.
