You can disable the HUD in the options menu, but then you have to pick the exact right moment to hit the Share button. Photo Mode would be much appreciated.

Nothing is. When I first saw the MEA facials animations I thought I was having an acid flash back from my younger years. That weird everything is slow and Plasticine like... :dread:

It's particularly embarrassing given what was done last gen with L.A. Noire by a continually harassed, bullied dev team.

Looks half-baked. The potential to have an epic campaign and it looks like they've just thrown anything together to tick a box.

The gunplay in the on-foot sections looks very Hold R2 To Win. Hopefully that's just Easy Mode.

It looks like the multiplayer. Only without being spammed by grenades or shot in the back. Oh and some door opening.

Looks like the campaign is only 5-7 hours long.

I love the thinking behind it, too:

Producer David Robillard wrote:We wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out.

A deeper single-player experience would be "too drawn out".

In other words it's tacked on rubbish designed to entice players who are sat on the fence about BF 2. No doubt that the campaign will be quite forgettable.

That's standard shooter campaign length, what were you expecting?

Something much more from the Star Wars universe. Halo's campaign, for example, takes around 8-12 hours on the standard difficulty depending on players skill level. For Star Wars, Jedi Academy clocks up around 10 hours without rushing it through and Republic Commando around 8+ hours. Watching the vids BF2's campaign looks just be a cut down selection of the multiplayer maps with a wafer thing story tacked on.

Guess I was expecting too much. *shrug*

I'll just replay Jedi Academy instead...or KOTOR :)

5-7 hours isn't too bad when you consider that the average Call of Duty singleplayer clocks in at around 3-4.

Hopefully the singleplayer is so well received that EA deigns to grace us with a spin-off game series for it. That's the only way I can see us getting a new singleplayer Star Wars game any time soon.

I hope the next time EA claims to be developing a new singleplayer Star Wars, they get a barrage of awkward as strawberry float questions in every interview about why they can't make good on all the promises of singleplayer Star Wars adventures, and what the likelihood is of the next one being released.

Fair enough. I guess I was just hoping for something more.

*edit* Decided to give The Old Republic another bash. There's some free DLC in the form of Shadow of Raven (and expansion celebrating the release of KOTOR back cat on Xbox One), and a Swoop land speeder.

Jesus Christ - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast came out FIFTEEN YEARS AGO.

Why haven't they managed to top that? It can't be that difficult to make a decent Star Wars FPS?

Probably because their primary focus is on how they can monitize on their latest IP. Everything else is secondary. That, for me, is the biggest problem with the current AAA industry.

Apparently Visceral's Star Wars project had troubles from the off, however as it's Electronic "we don't like single player games anymore" Arts in the driving seat I can't help be more than a little cynical. Terrible mis-management or a publisher purposely hampering the project behind the scenes until it collapsed because they knew it would be difficult to monitize?

Sounds like Mirror's Edge Catalyst will probably be the last single player-forcused game from EA in a long time going by that.

:( Is there any chance Disney will hand the Star Wars license to a developer or publisher who can actually give us the singleplayer adventures we want?
