I'm still pissed off at 1313 being cancelled.

Sounds like Mirror's Edge Catalyst will probably be the last single player-forcused game from EA in a long time going by that.

A good read.

At the end of the day, regardless of who is to blame, the whole sorry tale has given EA exactly the angle they need to ditch single player focused games altogether for the foreseeable future.

Sounds like a variety of factors sure, but from the off it sounds like EA designated Ragtag a secondary projected. 40 staff for a AAA SP campaign? Nah. Sounds like it was designed to fail.

...and when Anthem bombs (by EA's standards) it'll be a bullet in the head for BioWare as well.

:( As far as I'm concerned BioWare died a while back but Andromeda really demonstrated how far they'd fallen. I know it was a second tier project for them but can you imagine the BioWare of 2004/5 putting their name on anything quite as half arsed?

Actually, the first big warning sign was probably Dragon Age 2 which was almost, but not quite, as 'shoved out the door' as Andromeda.

Yes, BioWare are certainly a shell of what they once were. Andromeda was a train wreck.

EA seems to be going through developers faster than they're picking them up.

But ea are keeping their IP which seems to be the point.

Yeah, but who's going to develop them if each studio gets shuttered after x number of "failures"? It doesn't seem like a sustainable business strategy over the long term.

It really is a great trailer! But shows zero gameplay which is what stops it from selling me on it completely

If you buy this, you're a mug.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

EA is fiddling with the loot boxes... this feels like it’s getting messy.
