There's always an ingame currency, one which happens to take just long enough to accrue to make opening your wallet an appealing prospect.
If you've got a clinical addiction maybe.
I do understand why people don't like paying more once a game has been paid for but I think the actual impact on multiplayer games is way overblown. Do people think it's more fair/enjoyable if the person that kills you in a multiplayer game spawned closer to a better weapon, has unlocked better stuff, etc. The obvious answer would be that you don't mind getting killed by someone who is genuinely superior but how do people know? What if someone has a better connection or spawned in an advantageous location? Is the only way to be fair for everyone to have the same weapon? Is it any more fun to play a game getting crushed by people who've played than by someone who's decided to buy a loot box?
I just feel like every multiplayer game will have detractors
say it's not balanced and have issues with something. Just give games a try and see if you enjoy them, I've managed to play CoD, Battlefield, Titanfall and Halo and somehow I've managed to avoid paying for loot boxes.
