I’m not trying to put down that chart, but the recent drop is relatively small. In January the shares were around 80 dollars and now they’re 108 dollars.

Their most profitable time of year and after a huge release for them.

Arcade Mode is a strawberry float ton better than the singleplayer scenarios in BF2015.

Galactic Assault and Starfighter Assault are excellent, at least compared to the Walker Assault mode of the last outing; varied objectives, intense battles, cool battlefield locations etc. My only issue is that I loved the space-then-ground multi-stage levels of the last game, and they seem to be absent here. Hope they're working on a special hybrid game mode (part GA, part SA) with new maps, but I doubt it. Haven't tried Heroes vs Villains or Blast yet, but I expect they're good fun too.

Basically their AAA budgets have got so out of control that sales are never enough now. They need a decent "tail" of ongoing income from DLC etc

This is the real sticking point for me.

You would perhaps be a tiny bit more tolerant to it all if these budgets actually led to well designed competitive innovative and high quality games, and the MTs were kept to cosmetics, Overwatch being a prime example. Not that that game had a particularly huge budget.

I do feel for certain developers though, injustice 2 filled the entire meat of their main single player mode with loot boxes and added a platinum killer trophy in obtaining one of rarest abilities as bait to spend real money. They were praised for creating an excellent new single player mode and becoming "the destiny of beat em ups" and Ed Boon was left laughing all the way to the bank smelling of roses. Forza 7 tries a similar thing which really isn't pay to win and while it's needless, only the very impatient are going to make use of their model, yet they are panned for it.

The message from the community and press is not always consistent.

Good post.

They had a bigger percentage drop in the same period last year.

I finished the story mode today and actually really enjoyed it. The events unfolding and gameplay were nothing special, but there's certainly value in it being officially canon. Taking part in the climactic battle on Jakku, and taking down the star destroyers whose wreckages appear in TFA carries a certain magical thrill to it, and the mission itself is a great mix of air and ground sections that makes the whole thing feel vast and chaotic (in a good way).

Plus the hints about (Possible Last Jedi spoilers, only look if you've finished the campaign) Rey's parentage maybe?.

Is galactic assault mode available in 1P in the first game?

EDIT: Also does anyone have any tips for multiplayer? I just seem to get killed almost straight away, and barely know of any objective. Best classes, star cards, guns to use?

Been playing quite a lot of (the first) Destiny over the last few months.

Started this yesterday and it just feels so sluggish and heavy, not sure I'm going to be able to get into it.

Class is up to you. I try to get time in with them all, but I seem to do best as an Officer or Heavy. Assault is a fair all-rounder though. I've had some fun as the specialist, too, sniping can be great fun, but I'm bad at it. The Infiltration ability is very good though.

Star cards... Improved thermal detonator for assault, bounty hunter for any class, assault training for any, improved battle command & improved blaster turret for the officer, stealth for the specialist.

Weapons... The A280CFE for the specialist is a beast, the Blurrg-1120 for the officer is great (do upgrade it though), the resistance heavy's default blaster is superb, and for assault, I think any gun should see you right.

Heroes vs Villains is the best way to level up quickly. Class "levels" are actually a count of how many of each one's star cards you've bought/upgraded.

So my girlfriend just bought this for me, presumably as she's misconstrued some vague mentions of it and the fact that seeing the new film is now part of Christmas for me.

I don't know how to tell her she's s corporate sellout or that I would have preferred it digitally so a friend would have had it for free.

So now I'm just starting at it, with it still in its wrapping.

Obvious question: can you not return/sell it?
