I look forward to the months of bickering. Especially the arguments about why the millennium falcon just isn’t right.

As always I try not to read or watch any reviews before I see it. Chances are I'll probably enjoy it, as I do with the majority of Star Wars films.

Glad to see its getting some decent scores though.

So it is a generic heist movie with a Star Wars twist. It still sounds like a great watch regardless of that.

Watched TLJ again this evening, this time with the family. For myself I came away from it with much the same opinion. Wife wasn't that bothered by it, the girls liked it but it isn't their favourite.

Having watched all the currently released SW films over the last 12 months or so, if I had to put them in order then it would go Empire, Hope, Jedi, Rogue, Awakens, Phantom, Sith, Last Jedi, Clones.

Obi-Wan Kenobi movie rumors:

To be directed by Stephen Daldry (The Hours, The Reader).
Full production by Spring 2019, with a probable 2020 release.
Setting is reportedly immediately prior to ANH, concurrent with R1, starting when Tusken Raiders and Farmers get into some kind of local war.

Sounds... okay, but SWHQ's trilogy suggestion is garbage, unless it's a trio of loosely connected (but largely standalone) films spaced between Episodes 3 & 4.

It will be a shame if they set it right before a new hope as it will just mean that there will only be one obi wan film when given McGregor’s age they have the opportunity to do a few different ones set between ep 3 and 4.

Yeah, it'd be a complete waste of high quality meme opportunities. I'd really like a joint Ahsoka & Obi-Wan movie, though I know it'll probably never happen.

Hopefully it's not going to be a carbon-copy of the book. As much as I love the book, if this is true it'll really start feeling like they're taking concepts from the Legends material for films.

I hope it is not that, it would be really bland just being set on Tatooine
Anyhow tickets booked for Thursday night at the iMax, it was not at all busy, so I guess this is not going to be setting any box office records (Well maybe lowest opening for a Star Wars film)

I actually quite like the idea of it being given a bleak, single setting. Make it a bit Mad Max-esque.

They brought Thrawn back into the canon via Rebels and two recent books, so while it would be new for the films, in general it wouldn't be without precedent.

Except it would not be, you know there is more out there beyond the horizon. So there is no bleakness, he is there by choice. It would be bland, and you would feel there is far more out there he could be doing

He went there in self-imposed exile to watch over Luke, otherwise, yes, he would be out there doing more.

Exactly, in Mad Max there is nothing else which is why it is bleak, all it takes is for Old Ben to change his mind and he is outta there. Doing something far more interesting than nerf herding

"Just gonna change my mind on protecting one of only two possible saviours of the Jedi order, freedom and democracy in the galaxy, get out there and mind trick me some hoes."

Yeah no.

Obi-Wan was doing what he had to do. He didn't necessarily want to, but his sense of duty demanded it.

That holiday special :dread:

Just went to the booking page for our showing of solo out of interest to see how booked up it is and ours are still the only booked seats  Fingers crossed that we could be the only people in there (it's at 7.45 am), imagine if we've got the whole cinema to ourselves :datass: No food or drink sales that showing for you Vue

See now why can't it be set somewhere around 2/3? Could be like a live action clone wars.

Has anyone seen an advert for Solo that's longer than five seconds or are ITV just not bothered?
