They should've kept this. I'd have loved seeing Chewie rip an arm off :)

That's an awful scene. The guy from the last planet just happens to turn up at the next?

Horrid and universe shrinking

I've looked at a few lists and it seems that a new hope and empire are more fondly thought of than Jedi. Am I alone in thinking that Jedi is the best star wars movie ever made?

For the record I love empire and a new hope.

Mine too.

Watching now as an adult I can see its faults and why Empire is considered better but from an action/set piece point of view I loved it as a kid and watched it so many times.

All through my childhood I preferred Jedi, it was only in the last few years my opinion switched to Empire Strikes Back. The Luke/Endor/Space battle scenes at the end are almost perfect.

As a kid and teen I also loved Jedi, and didn't get the empire love. Now I understand empire and see it as a great film but also can't ignore my love for Jedi as a kid.

Empire is better as a film. The script, direction, everything about it is more artfully put together.

But Jedi is more fun, especially that last 30-40 minutes, so I tend to prefer it.

Check out some of our stuff!

I really dislike the musical direction of Empire's Bespin act, so I prefer Jedi almost by default. A New Hope is the best though, because it just feels so much more special. They all have wonderful moments that became iconic, though.

Jupiter is in your sun sign this week, making it pretty crowded in there, what with Jupiter being the largest of the planets and all.

As a kid, I always preferred A New Hope as the best, I loved Jedi and I didn't feel too much for Empire. Now as an adult with a better understanding of the story (instead of just watching lightsabres, laser guns, spaceships and teddy bears) my taste has completely changed. I now prefer Empire as my favorite. Great story and darker tone. A New Hope falls to second (but only just) and Jedi, whereas more fun, falls down the pecking order mainly due to the poxy Ewoks.

+1 for Jedi as a kid. I was four, and the right age to get excited about its release - I had the figures and the sticker book. My hype was sky-high when those adverts for the Speeder Bike came out, where they were using the dining table/chair legs as trees.

Edit - this one:

I'd go so far as to say that it was my first example of getting on board the hype train.

Oh, and as a four-year-old (probably five by the time I finally saw it, on video, at a friend's because we didn't have a vcr) I loved the Ewoks, and I loved the fact they beat the stormtroopers.

Other than the gold bikini, Jedi is far worse than New Hope and Empire.

Empire>New Hope>Force Awakens>Jedi>dog gooseberry fool on your skin>dog gooseberry fool in your mouth>a quick death>Phantom Menace>painful death>Clones=Sith

I've not seen Rogue One but I assume it's better than the dog gooseberry fool.

In order:

The Empire Strikes Back
A New Hope
The Force Awakens/ Rogue One (I need to see R1 again properly to finally place it above or below TFA)
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
Attack of the Clones

The Phantom Menace
