I was kind of sceptical about Chewy not having any grey fur at all but someone told me that Wookies canonically live for four hundred years so I suppose his appearance makes sense.

An insight into the practical effects used in the prequel trilogy, showcasing the amount of effort that actually went into it:

I still like them, no matter what anyone else says, or how objective the criticisms may be. I was 10 when the first came out, 13 when the second arrived, and 16 when the third came out. I basically grew up with them, so they will always have a place in my heart.

Terrible generic names IMO.

No more generic than the Empire and the Rebels.

I would also have accepted The New Republic, in place of The Resistance, but that might have invited too many comparisons to the EU.

I like The First Order as a name, but perhaps as more an Imperial splinter faction, rather than the whole thing.

I was the same age as you throughout the prequel saga, and I still think they're shite. The strawberry floating worst. Probably didn't help that I'd already seen the first trilogy a bunch before Phantom Menace appeared.

This trailer makes me feel like an over excitable little kid again. And that is awesome.

I'm pretty disappointed to learn that "Finn" is going to become a popular boys name now.
My poor son is going to have to share his cool name..

The only thing I find confusing is wouldn't this happening (the thing in the background):

Not technically destroy half the planet?

It's a movie series with swords made of solid light and moon-sized space stations that can blow up planets. I don't think they're aiming for scientific accuracy.

I'm just wondering if IRL that would destroy the planet, or is it possible it fell slow enough that the impact wouldn't destroy everything?

I love how Star Wars breaks physics, it owns!

Nah, it's fine. It's much, much smaller than the planet. Also, it's a desert, so surface damage is minimal. Also, what MCN said.

More pertinently, has anyone ID'd the smaller ship in the medium ground? Could it be a B-wing?

Theoretically, if it was travelling at the speed of say...an asteroid that could wipe out a planet, I doubt it would be that intact.

Isn't it just an X-Wing?

Fairly sure it's an X Wing. Seems to be pretty clear if you view the trailer full screen.

EDIT: What Frank said!

Well, you can't fight in space like Star Wars did. So...

(Yes, I was crushed when I found out that, when I was 9 years old.)
