It's still a pretty huge moment to spoil I think.

Oh yeah definitely, it's obviously going to be a pivotal moment I just meant that since we don't have the context we don't know why it's pivotal so it's not entirely spoiled. Still would've preferred it to be left out, but I don't think it's as big a deal as certain hysterical people on Facebook are making out.

Sounds like Mads Mikkelsen kinda wants to do a pre-Rogue One Galen Erso movie:

Reflecting on the role, Rogue One actor Mads Mikkelsen told IGN Japan that he feels Galen still has unexplored depths.

“We don’t see him a lot (in Rogue One); we get a feel of him,” Mikkelsen said. “Obviously you could elaborate on a character like that for his own movie. The story (of Rogue One) is about his daughter, and for that reason he plays a sidekick in her life. If he had his own film it would be different.”

Mikkelsen, who also recently spoke about wanting to play Spider-Man and his role in Death Stranding, explained that the richness of the Star Wars universe allows scope for even more stories, and that he senses a particular interest in exploring day-to-day life for ordinary folk under the Empire.

“I think there’s an unlimited source to go back and tell those stories,” he said. “I think people are curious about the Empire as well, to see some back story on the Empire. What kind of people are they? (Galen’s) family, his wife and daughter, we were part of the Empire – and we’re not monsters. So obviously there are (regular) people in there. And why do they do what they do? What do they believe in?”

The Erso family's life looks like it was pretty well mapped out in the book Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel, but that book might make for the basis of a pretty good Average(ish) Joe family-level drama set against the backdrop of a tumultuous galactic war, regime change and hidden agendas, broken promises and family life, etc. It'd be pretty neat to see more of Krennic, as well, as his rise is also chronicled in the book.

Out of interest, would anyone here decide to cancel their tickets if reviews came out as terrible?

Will people still go and watch the film if movie critics dislike it?

I doubt anyone who has bought tickets already would. They are the people who will see it regardless of the reviews.

I would see the film even if critics panned it because I like Star Wars and would want to make my own mind up about the film.

I don't even want to know what the reviews are.like, good or bad (light or dark) so I'm cutting most of my internet out until I see it this weekend.

Enjoy people. A mother strawberry floating star wars film :toot:

There's a non-spoiler analysis on the Sky News app that sounds great.

Ign posted a spoiler free review. However like many of their spoiler free reviews it's loaded with hints and a lot of descriptions. So avoid if you want to go in blind. On the plus side they loved it.

I've managed to get a ticket for Thursday evening at 6pm. Will go to see it again over Christmas too.

Wish my image sig would work

I haven't read any reviews (although i probably will give in as i can't go to the cinema till sunday) but i have scanned the review scores and it's consistently getting very high marks.

"The best star wars movie since Empire"

Welp... That's enough for me!
I've got to wait until January to see it though :'(

I want to remain spoiler free as much as I can, but if Luke dies I want to know before I go in!

Really looking forward to tomorrow! Sending the kids to the grandparents so we can go the midnight launch.
Must stay off the internet tomorrow in work because I'll be furious if it gets spoiled.
