I would hate a Boba Fett film. We don't need a cool mysterious character having his cool mystery removed. no thanks.

They kind of already did that with his origin story in Attack of the Clones. Wouldn’t care even remotely for a Boba Fett story. Maybe an ensemble thing with a few of the other bounty hunters Darth Vader summons in that one scene from the original trilogy, but he’s not interesting enough a character for an entire solo film.

I agree that they kind of ruined him in the prequels. But I'm mostly annoyed they re-dubbed him with the prequels actor in Empire. Never sounded quite right to me after the original.

There are interesting stories you could do with him.

I actually liked some of the EU books with him. Bounty Hunter Wars was a pretty good, post-ROJ trilogy with him as the main character (I remember liking it anyway).

He also shows up in the New Jedi Order storyline (For all it's flaws it had a few good moments) leading a group of mercenaries fighting the Yuuzan Vong (Sp?) but he's not in his armour anymore. Han figures out that its him though. Though it's been years since I read that so I might be wrong about the details.

Let’s hope you booked the correct cinema and don’t end up with tickets for a London showing.

I'm gutted that we couldn't get IMAX for midnight, We'll be going at the weekend to see it again though with the eldest though so it wont be so bad.

Our cinema was doing a Force Awakens/The Last Jedi double screening which would have been ace.

There seems to be a real lack of hype around Episode VIII. It surely can't be franchise burnout as Marvel gets away with more than yearly releases.

Is it because generally people have changed opinion on Force Awakens? It doesn't feel like an Episode 1 style shift where after 2 months everyone hated it, but I get the impression that people aren't as complimentary about TFA as they were in 2015.

I'm hyped as gooseberry fool and I still love TFA. I just generally avoid discussion, trailers etc beforehand.

I can't avoid trailers. I love them. Get me really hyped for any film that im looking forward to. Plus I have such a bad memory that I forget most of what's in them anyway.

Yeah, with stuff like Star Wars I watch it once, get hyped, but don't go back and analyse etc. I can't remember that much from the Star Wars trailer really.

What I actively try to avoid is comedy trailers as they tend to ruin all the best punchlines.

I found TFA fairly underwhelming, although by the time I watched it it was months later and I'd had the main twists spoiled for me already so that probably didn't help. Just seemed far too close to ANH, crossed the line from homage to copycat. Plus Gwendoline Christie was criminally underused.
Definitely hyped for The Last Jedi though, looks like it could go in some interesting directions and it's great to have Mark Hamill back in action.

There's a new, short trailer doing the rounds marking eight days before The Last Jedi. Absolutely DO NOT watch it. It's the first time in the marketing drive they've undoubtedly shown too much

Star Wars Sithposting spoiled it for me, but in fairness it's vague/brief enough that it could still go down a number of ways and not necessarily mean what everyone is assuming it'll mean
