Luke dies because he's not the protagonist any more, he's the mentor. Every hero's mentor dies otherwise what's the point of the hero? The mentor could save the day himself.

Luke abandons the Jedi Order's knightly ways and gets a job as an interstellar bus pilot. The film chronicles his struggle to reconcile his dreary life with his adventurous past and wild ambitions, and his subsequent descent into depression, leading him to pick up a devastating spice addiction (hence the paprika-red logo).

The Force Awakens crawl refers to Luke as the last Jedi...

A friend of mine thinks it refers to Kylo Ren. He thinks he'll turn to the light side and Rey will either die or turn to the dark side. The red logo might be hinting at Kylo's lightsaber colour.

The logo is red because the return of the Jedi logo was red, it's like poetry.

Jedi is plural. The knights of ren could be considered the last of the Jedi. I'd imagine it refers to luke fin and Rey, possibly Leia although that may be written out.

Luke tells Rey her real parents are, she seeks these evil parents out and turns to the darkside with Kylo, leaving Luke as the Last Jedi.

The title is so ambiguous that it is basically meaningless other than as a throwback to Return of the Jedi.

I go to the movies to watch CGI explosions, not to read.

Which he was, at the start of the Force Awakens, however it is quite clear at the end that he isn't the last potential jedi at least.

It could mean anything.

He has probably learned some gooseberry fool about the first Jedi from his stay at the first Jedi temple. Could be that Luke will be the last of the old "traditional" Jedi and Rey will be the first of a reborn old Jedi order?

I still don't think the title will mean a lot. Luke is he last known Jedi, Rey although she obviously has the force isn't a known Jedi, not because of her lack of training but because no one currently really knows about her powers apart from a handful of people. A good chunk of this film probably focuses on Luke who is by all accounts the last known jedi, I think the title simply refers to that. They are just hyping up Luke's appearance for marketing purposes.

Star Wars Celebration is in April, it'll surely be then when we get a first glimpse. I think that's also where they showed the first Episode VII trailer.

Was the first proper trailer on May 4th? Or was that the teaser?

I actually lived in Cardiff but I've been in Asia since October and will be for next 5 months.

So local cinema hasn't been an option...
