Good, and early enough for it not to be a huge problem. Fingers crossed Rian Johnson takes the gig

I've got a bad feeling about this.

I was always surprised he got the job in the first place to be honest.

Safety Not Guarunteed is a nice film but it almost has an indie feel to it.

Jurassic World is obviously more along the big budget lines of Star Wars and while it made a lot of money (which was inevitable with the franchise name) it had a lot of problems.

VIII is, IX is not.

IX will start filming early next year if it's to meet its summer 2019 release date. Could be delayed until Christmas, which would mean it starts filming next summer. Plenty of time to sort the script and get a new director in

I always think they should be released at Christmas anyway, much more magical plus better for toys sales.

Wish my image sig would work

I don't like knowing that they've got all these films lined up, makes the whole thing pretty soulless and cynical.

I thought they had already confirmed they were taking over the Xmas release slot for all the new Star Wars movies?

That changed with Han Solo and Ep 9, which are set for May/June.

It's been that way ever since Empire Strikes Back was subtitled "Episode V".

It's bullcrap: I like the festive scheduling. It's becoming part of my tradition.

I prefer it too, and it makes more sense around Disney's other films. May is usually Marvel's month

Yeah I find it odd that they keep aiming for a may/June release for the star wars films. I would have thought the success of the last two would have convinced them to keep releasing at Christmas. Surely u want to keep star wars and marvel apart so they don't impact on each other.

On the toys I agree there are some cool looking designs.

Kind of, instead of Ewoks though it will be Gungans to link the three trilogies together.
