Why would they have wanted to do that? There were no interesting original characters in that film.

I think the final third, which makes the film, would have nowhere near the impact if they didn't kill them off

Plus, they needed a film in which plot armor didn't save the protagonists for the umpteenth time.

Yeah I get that. Part of me likes the ending and thinks it was a good move by them but another part of me would like to see another film of the same tone with some of the characters set in the original trilogy.

A Rogue Squadron or X-Wing VS TIE Fighter type movie could fit the bill, if done right. Largely unconnected to any known characters, with a few references here and there, it could show the rougher side of the Rebellion, similar to R1, but different too.

Or they could transplant the Firefly concept into Star Wars' universe.

Yeah I would like that.

Well that’s your opinion. I liked the film. I liked Jyn, the two Chinese dudes and K-2SO.

Just booked our tickets. 8.30 am 2d showing, so hopefully a bare minimum amount of kids will be there and most of the scum won't have scraped themselves out of bed yet.

Also our local cinema has upgraded every seat in there to a big leather recliner :toot:

Cheers for reminding me to book tickets, weren't that many left for the time I wanted.

Have gone for an IMAX showing on Sunday afternoon.

Did I say in here what happened when I booked rogue one last year? Turned up at the cardiff Imax, no trace of our tickets, turns out I'd booked them for the London imax :fp:

I felt like such a banana split. Even worse was we had alright posh seats booked off centre, not amazing but pretty good. The only ones available at the last minute were at the front to the right and for the 3d showing :fp:

Luckily the front row was far back enough that it didn't actually matter.

Pretty good, when I went to see The Force Awakens I even had a couple of empty seats next to me...

You'd have thought it would have been completely sold out! I wonder why those people didn't turn up?

Lots of rumours that the third Star Wars original story project might be binned off for some reason. It was believed to be an obi wan film.

McGregor sex scandal incoming.

But seriously, probably adding micro transactions and loot crates.

strawberry float, I was really looking forward to that Obi-Wan movie. :(

Boba Fett would be nice too, or an Imperial-era flick about Clone Captain Rex, but McGregor was one of the highlights of the prequels for me.
