Is that a troll video because I cannot believe they would do a performance comparison in the one area of the game that had excellent performance already, instead of the town 5 minutes later where it all goes to gooseberry fool. Even that other area they show, the handcuffed walk in the intro, was a lot better than what immediately follows

To give you an idea of how useless the comparison is, I was playing just last night on PC and the outdoor area they’re showing was running at about 150fps, which then drops to the low 40s when running around the town you’re working towards there.

This game is amazing.
Major spoilers:

Bode being a jedi/sith? Whhhhaaaaat!

Cere's battle with Darth Vader is amazing. Love the details. You can see Vader playing with her just using one hand for his lightsaber. Then he realise she's no pushover and switched to two hands and get serious. Also loved that it was played as Cal's force echo after all.

I'm a few hours deep into this, just met up with Greez and Z.

Metroidvania exploration is tops - the map is great, and fast travel is surprisingly (to me) welcome. The open world is intimidatingly large, but I'm enjoying it.

The visuals are blowing my stupid eyes off. Just a fantastic visual experience.

Battle Droids are so much fun. A proper Clone Wars game wouldn't go amiss. :shifty:

The Rancor fight wrecked me for half an hour solid. The number of insta-kills that thing inflicted on me while I figured out how to fight it (and then gave up and googled strategies :slol: ) doesn't bear thinking about. It was frustrating, but, it's a Rancor, so, how mad can I really be? I guess kinda mad. I would have liked for the bone in mouth thing to work more than the one time, or at least for it to convincingly swat it away.

High Republic content in the visual media formats is what I'm living for. More, I say! More!

Ninth Sister showing up in the opening chapter took me by surprise, and then ending her! Holy gooseberry fool. What an opener.

Customization is much better now, but I'm lacking in ponchos. Hope I find one soon. Jackets and other outfits are really cool, though. The facial hair options so far all look weird, but the full beard suits Cal well. I like that an array of lightsaber customization options are quickly made available, they felt slow in coming in the first game.

Cameron Monaghan is a great actor and we are blessed to have him in this game. I really want Cal to survive these games and make the leap into live action, and soon.

The combat has been kicking my arse somewhat, but I'm leveling up and getting better. I'm doing the dual lightsaber and split sabers for my stances so far, which seems effective.

Very solid stuff, really enjoying it. I'm also listening to the audiobook set between games, Battle Scars by Sam Maggs, and it too is pretty good.

Ive just done the second section on the third (+opening planet) planet.

I had been enjoying Kobah and opening up that map, and when i had fewer of the stances i got to know them more and the combat with the droids/raiders you do get used to. The game felt good.

But with the the extra stances and the other planets - i seem to be too spoilt for choice as how to literally combat the enemy and find im losing my enjoyment. The maps seem to get stretched out and have less thought put in them - too much ridiculous trial and error platforming.
Similaly the game is throwing too many "fat/dumb" enemies at me that turn more into a war of attrition and the number of stims i have, rather than a graceful light saber battle. Is it a rock/paper/scissors regarding stances/enemies?

Im hoping the game settles down, starts out an 8/10, has progressed to a 7/10, and if this continues may end out as a 6/10 game.

The more annoying thing is that you are limited to two stances at a time. Why? I find it annoying and too limiting.

I made that post after getting most of the way through the third plant Jedha And yes thats got to be the low point in the game, which is funny - becasue the end to that planet is actually quite good. I have since learned the air dash move (on that planet funnily enough) and this makes combat a bit better coupled with getting to grips with the blaster stance. I am enjoying the metroidvania elements to the game and becasue im focusing on the one stance and the dash move - im slicing through the combat alot better now and feel like a jedi again. Ive just killed Rayvis how far through am i? Its a shame there are more planets.

I havent tried the gardening, and all my attempts at that combat game in the pub have ended in defeat.

So they didn't fix the issue where if you get killed by a Mogu, your lost EXP gets stuck under the ground and can't be retrieved. :fp: :x

This game has well and truly got me in its grasp now. The excellent map really helps my exploration tendency (but could do with more pins, seeing how huge Koboh is!). I've seen a couple of moments of slow-down in the wide open areas, but nothing that bothered me excessively. Apart from that and the very annoying Mogu glitch, everything seems fine to me.

I really hope they can fix the performance issues on this game. Loved Fallen Order but can't see me touching this until it's been sorted. Hopefully Digital Foundry will do a follow up some time

I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Some of the characters deserve their own game / show.

On my second go around with new journey +

This contains spoilers:

The difficulty deffo ramped up with the new journey, and I have no strawberry floating clue how anyone could defeat these bosses on Jedi Grand Master.

The thing with Bode came out of strawberry floating nowhere, but the daughter seems strawberry floating cold when he died.

Another patch. Supposedly fixes the Mogu XP glitch, among others.
