I want my early 360 Microsoft back :(

Ditto, they were on fire back then, looking at their early big exclusives, they no longer have the studios...

Halo 3 (Bungie) - Broke their ties after Reach, 343i haven't been up to par
Gears of War (Epic) - Collaboration ended with Judgement, Epic since found massive success with Fortnite
Fable II (Lionhead) - Folded after Molyneux's departure
PGR 3 (Bizarre) - Sold to Activision and folded

Forza 2 (Turn 10) - Thankfully still there, Microsoft need to keep them

Those 4 games ALONE were worth purchasing an Xbox 360 for me.

The Eurogamer reviewer reckons the first game only sold well because it looked like DayZ. Clearly not a fan of the game then.

I'll boot it up at midnight to get tutorial out of the way, ill report any bugs.

Listening to the Bombcast and Brad is really enjoying this although he did say that he switched from 1X to PC. He disecribed it as The Sims set in an open world zombie apocalypse.

I'm not sure I agree that smaller reviews are inherently less trust worthy, it wasn't long ago that any positive reviews from a major outlet were criticised for being 'paid for'. Anway, this being on Game Pass will probably save MS from controversy again.

Obviously learned nothing from the gooseberry fool SoT got, except this is a bug riddled mess. I'll try with Game Pass and I can play it on both my X and PC.

Only read the IGN review but seems weird he only played the 1st map. Sounds like more of the 1st game but expanded which I loved. Hopefully yesterdays 6gb patch fixed the worst of the bugs but I doubt it.

Also know as GamerGate. But I get your point. I still disagree however, I believe YouTube reviewers in general still aren't up to the par of the gaming press.

Kotaku review is a decent read - includes a mini diary of events that happened.

I feel like I'm typing on egg shells but I wasn't intentionally referencing gamergate and certainly didn't mean any offence. I was talking more about positive reviews of Rockstar or Activision being dismissed because of ads and what have you.

I'm not suggesting YouTube reviews are more reputable or trustworthy just that there can be a bit of hypocrisy when it's comes to assessing which outlets are valid. I'm sure Photek wouldn't advocate a review with any bias towards a certain publisher though ;)

You're absolutely correct about those aspect of larger reviews, but I think the 'reviews being paid for' thing is mostly bunkum at this point. There was a fair bit of it back in the day no doubt (Drivergate of course) but most of the large entities seem to be beyond it at this point.

Don't forget Kane & Lynch 2 and a certain reviewer who lost their job through not towing the corporate line.

In all honesty I can't say I'm fully trusting of most review sites, but more because I don't feel a lot of reviewers are professional enough to reign in their own bias, (and in turn offer up a genuinely impartial view), as opposed to palms being greased. I'm not a fan of SoD, however Eurogamer's review of the sequel came across more like the reviewer just wanted to give something a kicking rather than a fair trial, so to speak.

The good thing about smaller sites like ACG is that as only one person reviews the games so you can learn over time if they line-up with your views.

Unusual that you can choose which of the 3 maps on SOD2 to start on.

ACG did a follow up video explaining why he liked it so much.

I often watch ACG's reviews and, to me, he seems to be very thorough and makes some interesting points. He talks a bit too fast for my taste but I still enjoy his stuff.

It's a shame that this title doesn't - in these early stages - appear to be as good as people wanted it to be. I think there's a little weight in the viewpoint that some folk may have built their expectations up a wee bit too much; in previews it came across as being a slight advance on the first title but not a "must have" exclusive. It could be taking a bit of a kicking from some reviewers in frustration at the current lack of great Microsoft exclusives.

From what I've read of several reviews huge bugs are still common place after a 6gb update. Crikey, this game is a mess. :|

ACG isn't unknown and while he may not have a code of ethics (I honestly don't know), I'm sure he would be quickly found out and dog-piled on if his reviews were blatantly pandering to publishers.

Played a couple of hours, if you like SoD1 you’ll love this. Also played MP with mate and it worked perfectly. He joined my game and vice versa. He helped me get medical supplies and he also got a shotgun in a house we looted. Each house/place has stuff only he can loot and vice versa.

Joined his game and again it was fine bar a touch of lag when he drove. Interestingly as part of the intro you join up with an army guy, or so I thought because in mates game the army guy was a girl with a southern accent.

We gonna help each other’s plague heart houses tomorrow and hope we don’t kill one of our survivors. By chance he chose different map too so it’s great to see new places.

On the bug count I just encountered zombies stuck in doors.
