I'll take this over a consumer Oculus any day of the week.

Yeah, if the choice is buying a product from Facebook or from Valve I'm leaning towards the latter at the moment.

Thanks for solving VR's problems, Oculus, but if you can't get a product on the shelves then it's pointless. I have a lot more faith in their competitors after seeing what they have to offer and how invested they are in VR.

Leaning? I've fallen over and I'm lying flat across Valve's lap.

Oculus have actually released 2 dev kits, so they're ahead there. Valve/ HTC could still get something wrong. I hope not, mind.

I was all for the Rift, but backed by Valve? Too tempting to miss out on. strawberry float.

For you, the day Half-Life 3 graced your PC was the most important day of your life but for me, it was Tuesday.

Sounds like they're following Sony's lead by going with two Move controllers.

The mention of a base station and not a camera makes it sound more like that STEM system.

I'm surprised that people are talking about buying this instead of a Rift considering how little we know about retail products from any company at this stage.

I've just watched the reveal video. Stating 'Holiday 2015' is drawing a firm line in the sand. This second major PC headset allowing with Morpheus is more evidence to indicate that VR, unlike 3D, is more than just a fad - it will be a real sustainable profitable industry.

It's certainly the most convincing VR product to emerge since Oculus and Morpheus. I've never seen any of the phone ones as anything other than a distracting side-show.

As plenty of others have said the most important thing is interoperability between the headsets. A standard VR api that ensures players don't need to worry about buying the "wrong" one and missing out on stuff because of it.

As such I'm unlikely to be jumping onto any of these this year.
Probably late 2016, unless HL3 appears in the meantime of course. :slol:
