Searched for a S;G thread. Couldn't find anything.

Everyone’s been waiting to hear from PQube, the western console publishers of the first Steins;Gate, about the western release of Steins;Gate 0 – and now we finally have news for you! PQube have confirmed with us that they are releasing Steins;Gate 0 in 2016 in both Europe & North America on PlayStation 4 & PlayStation Vita.

Steins;Gate 0 is the follow up to the award-winning and chart-topping Steins;Gate – the sci-fi time travel visual novel that took the west by storm just last year. There’s a reason everyone loves it so much. Steins;Gate 0 is more than a simple sequel, instead exploring a branch of one of Steins;Gate’s alternate endings. Okabe and the Future Gadget Lab members, along with new characters, star in this story about AI and the creation of something called “Amadeus” – which can allow you to interact with the store memories of another person. We’re loving what we’ve seen so far!

I found the first one to be a bit too dark toward the end, so I probably won't be picking this up. Great to see it coming over all the same though!

Wahey! A great year for visual novels between this, Danganronpa 3, Zero Escape 3 and Phoenix Wright 6. Let alone many of the ones that go on Steam.

I've still got the original sat unplayed on the shelf at home along with Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls. I'd better get cracking!

I didnt really get into the original but still managed to get the platinum for it thanks to some nifty use of save points, skip text option and a guide! :shifty:

Currently on "Promised Rinascimento" (3rd "playthrough") and am loving it. Best improvement over original has to be total lack of disturbing gooseberry fool along the lines of what Okabe did to Kiryu Moeka. But there's still a few playthroughs to go so I'm not completely out of the woods. It's still gut wrenchingly cruel at times, though.

A gripe I read about on GAF was that the artwork was of inferior quality. Which I was surprised to read because it looked the bloody same to me :slol: :fp: I even went to Specsavers!

Promised Rinascimento was SteinsGate at its best! It kept tension ratcheted up as per usual, but this time also introduced humour from early portions of the first game. :toot:

And now on to Vega and Altair. Got a feeling this gonna be one of the more bitter-sweet endings.

A shame no one brought the PC version over here. (Japan release only, I think.)

Anyone know if those are any good, and if they have English text options?

Turns out Vega and Altair is both another ending to the game *and* also has the "true" ending, once the credits are done rolling. So yeah, I'm almost done with it.

I really need to play this and the original; The anime was fantastic and I used to put it on just to listen to the cicada sounds.

Are there any mods for the Japanese PC version for English subs?

For 0? I think so: https://www.reddit.com/r/steinsgate/com ... ish_patch/ Dunno about the original, though.

Aaaand done.

Steins;Gate leaves me exhausted like no other game. Loved it all the same, though.

Thanks mate. It's ok I can get the original (non prequel) on PS3.

How much actual game is there in the Steins Gate games, I've seen a fair bit of praise for the first one but to me it just looks like almost every other Japanese visual novel that are flooding Steam almost daily.

Edit: just seen that the first game is £26.99 on Steam  seems very pricey for what you're actually getting.
