The lack of Mike's mum appreciation in here is most disheartening.

Second of all Dart did stay in character, Dart loved nougat and Dustin from the start.

Dustin was annoying as hell and deserved to get killed several times over.

They are vicious otherworldly killers with a hive mind intelligence that murdered up an entire lab of people, and if you removed that bit with dart entirely it would have had zero affect on the plot. It was just dumb.

Just binged season 2 today, I loved it! I think I even liked it a little bit more than season 1.

Poor fat Hobbit though :(

I really like him as an actor. He was perfect in LotR, and perfect in this.

I thought it was bit on the nose having him and Burke from Aliens both in it, though they were both really good. Next season: Will Wheaton, Kiefer Sutherland and Corey Feldman!

Finally caught up with this. It was absolutely brilliant — even better than the first series .

Bob  what a hero.

Episode 7 :dread: that gang was strawberry floating terrible. The whole episode was awful.

Can't wait for the next one!

Was a bit bored up until episode 5 of season 2....then it became very, very good. I might rewatch the first few again, maybe just wasn't in the mood.

Actually quite enjoyed episode 7, was utterly bizarre seeing Kai Greene pop up as one of the gang :slol:

Yeah I liked 7 I felt it serves as it purpose of giving Eleven some perspective and closure on some issue, without it the later episodes wouldn't have had the same impact.

I also thought episode seven was ok. However, if Netflix decides to open up a Stranger Things Universe, with tonnes of spin-off shows that devalue the joy of the core show, then episode seven will be remembered as the gateway to that and will go down in my estimation.

I know everyone watched this in November but I only just got round to watching it...and, after a slow start, it was really good- I enjoyed it alot, with a few criticisms.

The biggest plus is obviously the characters-they are still brilliant and they really have a good handle on how to use them.

In terms of what didn't work, yeah the infamous episode 7 really stood out. I understand what they're trying to do with Eleven's story arc but they didn't handle it well. Having an episode away from Hawkins in Chicago really messed the pacing up, and also I think spoilt the "small town" feel that really makes Stranger Things work.

The other thing I really didn't like was that this season completely lost the "other worldy" feel Season 1 had. It didn't really feel that paranormal, and whereas in the first season, the demogorgon felt like something from another world, in this they felt like your bog standard monster. It diminished the threat, and the magic a little.

Overall though, definitely enjoyed it a lot.

I started watching the second series when it was released, but only just got round to finishing the last few episodes the other night.

I don't think I really enjoyed this series anything like as much as the first, and it's all because there's no sense on mystery here. The first series had glimpses of the upside down, and you only really discovered what the creature hunting them was towards the end of the series. It remained an unknown quantity throughout, one you were never really sure what it was capable of.

Obviously, the second series can't keep that a mystery any more, so they up the scare factor by going all Aliens on it, and just making it so there are loads of them.

There were other plot points that were really disappointing, too. Eleven's story throughout felt almost entirely removed from the rest of the show, aside from when they needed her to use her powers.

The worst was Max and her step brother, though. The whole way through, you're drip fed little bits about their situation, they're not really related, they've had to move away because of something Max did, there's no sign of their parents, the brother is determined to keep Max away from the other kids, etc, right up until the penultimate episode, when it turns out he just doesn't like his step sister because his dad beats him up and he might be a bit racist because he really hates Lucas, but that's not really touched on. It's as though they suddenly realised they had to wrap up their story and just went for a quick solution rather than anything that might have been good or interesting.

I also don't remember the first series reveling so much in its licenced soundtrack the way this series felt like it did, but that might just be my memory.

Just finished watching it all. Episode 7 rocks so rudolphin and the rest are wrong imo. Loved the vibe, music score and the entire premise. Can’t wait for number 3.

Finished season 2 last night, loved it. Episode 7 was a stinker though and seemed a bit like they were smelling their own farts. Loved seeing Paul Reiser, I was fully expecting a Burke moment right up to the end

Samwise Gamgee was a great character, RIP :(

Also me and my wife cried when Dustin got rejected multiple times at the dance :(

I enjoyed both series so far, but as others have pointed out, episode 7 of season 2 was the odd one out. It seemed out of the loop completely, like I was watching a smaller budgeted sequel to the series other than
Elevens power up hour.

Will is apparently going to finally get a rest in season 3, I wonder if the upside down will target Eleven instead?
