When can I get my hands on it?
Release date confirmed as May 29th.

How much will it cost me?
If you pre-order on Xbone, PS4, or Steam, you get a free copy of Ultra SF4 to tide you over.
If you pre-order on Nintendo Switch, you get to pay £15 more. (I'm going to anyway)

Smyths have the PS4/XBONE versions for £25, and the Switch version at £36.99, with a further £5 off if you buy in store.

https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/sea ... et+fighter

Forums member Zartan found it for £22.50 at green man gaming.

Is it just arcade ports, or are other modes available?
Training modes have been confirmed as well as local versus play. Training modes only for the games you can play online, which are: Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Turbo, Alpha 3, Third Strike.

Not sure if this is in the video as I'm at work but this was the Eurogamer article:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017- ... and-switch
There's online play in four of the games: Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Capcom said online play features "rewind" technology that provides low-latency matches with the ability to adjust your own input latency via the in-game menu.

You can play against the CPU while waiting for friends in online battles. Lobbies support up to four players, and there are ranked matches.

Save states let you save your progress and resume any time for any of the 12 games when playing in single-player modes.

There's a Museum mode, which lets you look at concept art, character bios, pitch documents and little known facts about each release in an interactive timeline, Capcom said. There's a Music Player, too, which lets you listen to the series' music.

Good news about Online. I played a lot of Alpha 3 on the PS1 so hopefully it has all the modes from that available.

EDIT: So glad I never picked up Ultra SF II for the Switch. I'd be feeling a bit burned on that right now. Though I have to figure out if I get the PS4 version, where I can use my fight-stick, or the Switch version for on the move SFA 3. Decisions, decisions.

Am I right in thinking this is the first time any of the Alpha games have been rereleased?

It would have been better, for me, to see them include the EX games, the movie tie-in and maybe even SFIV here instead of 5 versions of SFII. I've already got enough versions of SFII thank you very much.

It's not the first collection of Alpha games (There was a PS2 collection I believe), but it's the first time since then they've all been together (I believe). Alpha 3 got ported to just about everything in the early to mid-2000's so I hope they include all the extra characters and modes that accumulated.

Ahhhhh so excited for this <3 So glad SF3 is getting ported to modern platforms, crazy it'll be available on a portable via the Switch for the first time.

As far as I know, they've only been re-released on PS2 via the Anthology collection, the GBA+PSP ports of Alpha 3 and then the PS1 versions emulated on PS3/PSP/PSVita.

So the first time we've had arcade perfect editions since the PS2+PSP, and the first time we'll get any of 'em online :toot: I do wish Alpha 2 had netplay as well though

The Large Hadron Collider proved that there are actually more versions of Street Fighter II in existence than there are atoms in the universe.

They do not own the rights to the EX games, they are owned by Arika, and you can play the Beta of the latest version on PSN right now: Fighting Layer EX.
SFIV would have been cool, but it is already available on PS4, and PC (and backwards compatible on XBONE) so I guess that is their reasoning, but lets be serious no one wants the movie tie in.

Comically I have seen people complain that certain versions of SFII are not in it, either way, I really want to play some Alpha again, I have a version on GoG which is an awful port. So hopefully this will be much, much better.

Any indication if the training modes will be available? At least for the online enabled games I hope they include it.

They said the focus on these was arcade ports, so I doubt there will be any thing like that

Yeah I figured it would be a rights thing with Arika. SFIV would have been great for the Switch at least, and the movie tie-in would have been fun for completeness if not gameplay.

But yeah it's Alpha 3 I'm most excited for. It's probably the SF game I've played the most (Apart from maybe OG SFII on SNES).

I think that will make it hard to establish online communities, without any way to practice combos, links, and cancels.

Training modes and versus play confirmed. Training modes only for the games you can play online, but versus for all games.

Always had a soft spot for the Alpha series, but I already have all three arcade versions, along with every other SF prior to 4 on my original Xbox, so can't justify buying the Anniversary Edition.

I've ordered this adaptor so I can use my Xbox 360 fight stick on the switch, I'll test it out and see how it goes.

Winckle I’m fairly sure I’ve given you the reins to this particular topic, as per your request. If you need anything else then let a mod know - maybe not one as completely inept as Mafro.
