I collected the Star Wars Tazo collection back in '95-'96 ?

I had them all but one. I finally finished the collection around 2008 when I found that missing tazo on ebay. All those wonderful memories are now consigned to one of the many storage boxes we have under the bed.

Great times.

You should see the 1981 Beryl The Peryl annual, that usually features a beating every 2 pages.

I also remember the Dennis stories which featured his grans Demon Whacker, which was a solid elephant hide slipper that even his dad was afraid of.

Anyone remember Battle Beasts? They were small plastic figures of anthropomorphic animals wielding swords, axes and other weapons, I had quite a few of them as a kid.

I'd forgotten about them until I found one the other day (it was a toad with a drill for an arm).

8-)

Oh gooseberry fool! I had that big one too! I'd completely forgotten how awesome he was. I also had 5 of those smaller ones. And I also had a really big one that was in the shape of the main villain's skull and its eyes would light up. Oh and I had the dragon island thing.

Man, I had a lot of Mighty Max toys.

Get on my level you povs.

I used to scrape a stone or coin along the strip to create a rapid fire effect, or failing that just hit them with a hammer.

Simple times.

The coin technique was a good one.

I also used to enjoy buying a box of matches and a packet of polos, then creating match rockets. A lost art. I’ll have to teach my kids how to do it this weekend. The perfect birthday present for a ten year old!

Match rockets? How were the polo's used? Sounds possibly similar to what we used to do at Halloween; used to unravel a large safety pin to thread a roll of caps onto (folding over and puncturing through the middle). This would then be well sellotaped to the side of a flare match (could get up to 4+ strapped to a side), to create an almighty bang. Much fun! I remember one time i nearly blew my bloody finger off; the feckin sellotape got stuck after striking it. Thank feck I managed to shake it off!

Also, Creamola Foam; used to liven up my water in primary school! Plus, all those colours, e numbers and fizzing kept dentists well employed! Image

Ahh Cremola foam was great.

To make a rocket out of a match you tightly wrap the head of the match with silver foil, prop it up against a stone or something similar then light the match wood with another match.
