I very much doubt it's going to get turned off in the immediate future. I think they have until Season 5 mapped out (and sold as part of season passes)? I would have thought they'd at least see that through.

Yeah, if they did shut it down they'd announce it and they'd still be year or so to play it. So I'm thinking maybe about 2-3years time.

I *think* it's on PS Plus Extra (Premium?) so hopefully that'll boost numbers. The next update lands Thursday so that should draw people back in, too.

It'd be good if the game was updated to continue to be playable even if it's no longer supported a while down the line; rather like with Square-Enix's Avengers.

In the meantime, I gotta get my head around all the moves/controls!

I’ll be amazed if this survives 3 years, unless those 148 players are buying every micro transaction possible multiple times over. I’m expecting a shortened roadmap and then maybe a free to play push to get numbers up for one last attempt at generating revenue and then quietly left unsupported.

It’s not just that’s it’s bad, but it took 8 years to develop and that time meant it missed the entire rise and fall of live service games. They were 2 steps behind everyone else and from what I understand it doesn’t bring anything new to show for that wasted development time.

I played a bit more last night; I'm past the "try every move for every character" phase and into the main story. I selected Deadshot as my character and I'm getting around okay albeit I'm sure I've forgotten some of the moves.

The presentation of the city is impressive; lots of different buildings and you can see for a huge distance. It's fun running/climbing/flying up the outside of the buildings - it really is slick and pacey.

Oh! And I've met bad Green Lantern and bad Batman! Early days but, yeah, this is fun.

i felt the game had its moments

i liked the performances for the Squad and the graphics looked really good but then the gameplay and the gameloop were just bad and i couldnt get any enjoyment out of them or the gimmicks that the boss battles had i tapped out long befoere the disapointment of having to grind to unlock the joker

They lost me the second they revealed it was a live service. I was never really onboard with a Suicide Squad game anyway so I needed to see something to change my mind.
Instead it just cemented that I was never going to play it.

Reading through the article it's just the usual story. Acclaimed developer known for their AAA single-player experiences is made to work on live-service multiplayer trash. End product is trash. shockedpikachu.jpg
