Can someone explain that spoiler

I though Batman died at the end of Arkham knight? It’s been a while since I played it but I’m sure his illness was terminal wasn’t it?

I've been watching/reading a few opinions and... yeah, I'd say that the overall verdict at present is mediocre.

- Gameplay is okay but likely to become dull pretty quickly
- The humour... it's pretty much constant and, whilst some folk dig the quips, it becomes repetitive
? The HUD is too complicated. You can edit/remove almost anything on it; but it's perhaps too much
? Some folk are saying the gameplay is too simple whilst others are saying things aren't obvious enough
? The killing of traditional "heroes" doesn't feel good for all players

I would like to try it still... but, yeah, I will say that I'm glad I wasn't drawn in to dropping £100 on this for the Deluxe Edition.

It's ambiguous. He initiates the Knightfall Protocol after his identity is outed and the batwing is crashed into Wayne Manor but it could be taken that he was killing Bruce Wayne to carry on fighting crime in the background as Batman. There is a final scene with some criminals who think Batman is dead that are being chased by a fiery bat shape that could have been Batman or could have been a Scarecrow hallucination.

I can't remember how the illness stuff plays out

He just sort of "overcame" the Joker toxin via beating the mental Joker didn't he?

And as for how he's back after the Knightfall Protocol....

He just kinda changes his mind :?: :slol:

Yeah one of the most interesting story things is handwaved away right at the beginning. And technically it's even optional to hear that dialogue.

I meant the post Arkham Knight stuff. You have to manually activate the display in the Batman museum.

Isn't he talking about the video I linked - which is an interactive history that you could walk pass and not interact with?

That whole area is probably my favourite part of the game I played.

...yeah, opinions seem to be all over the place for this - perhaps very much a "marmite" game!

That doesn't read like a 4/5.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Fortunate it was a 4/5 given how much Suicide Squad advertising is on the site.

In truth I haven't actually had time to read the review I posted :shifty: I know Chris Scullion writes for VGC so I often see their stuff on twitter

I listened to a recent episode of the Back Page pod the other day and Matthew Castle was talking about his time with the preview of the game. He seemed a little cautious about the pile-on on this. I'm not really interested in the game but I am keeping half an eye on how it reviews.

So I've been watching a few streams of this and watched some YouTube reviews. It's definitely a marmite game. Someone nailed it perfectly; If you like games like Borderlands and The Division 2 where you're shooting all the time, looting new weapons and finding new skills/things that weapons do you should as well as traversal like Sunset Overdrive and the likes, then you'll love this game as it's very much the more of this and from the sounds of it the end-game is pretty fun too. However if you're expecting a more Arkham stlye/adventure game then you're completely out of luck and you'll probably hate it very quickly.

I'm tempted as I'm a huge comic fan as well as sinking countless hours into both the Borderlands series and The Division 2, but I'm going to wait for the inevitable price drop in the next month or so and pick it up then. Hopefully by then the further end-game content planned will have been revealed and it'll have a better idea of how supported the game will be down the line.

The main turn off for me is I just don't like the suicide squad characters. I didn't really enjoy the films and they're not a draw for me to buy this.

BUT, I do love borderlands, and I thought I'd not enjoy guardians of the galaxy but I really liked that, so I'm not writing this off.

Just not going to buy it so will play if it ever shows up on gamepass.
