Run about on terra firma and you be dead in double quick time. Like, if you somehow find yourself in a good spot, the game will spawn enemies behind you, forcing you to move. I see that as a bad thing. I expected better from Insomniac than this.
I felt that as well at first, I was extremely underwhelmed but saw the potential. As soon as I unlocked a couple of awesome weapons I started to enjoy it more, and then I got the air dash and ground smash. And from that point onwards the game just got better and better.

Which is great unless you are in the middle of a battle in which case the gun guy is out, there are usually crates about but when they are floor level and can't easily be gotten without stopping your flow it can be a real pain.
Enemies drop ammo as well, so as you're grinding/bouncing around you should be able to replenish a half decent amount of ammo. Again, at first, I hated the fact that ammo ran out quickly. But, once I got a few weapons on the go, I was actually quite pleased that the ammo restriction forced me to change weapons as it meant that I had to try out the other weapons. Now I've got a set weapon to take out the big OD, a particular weapon to destroy the Fizzco hordes, and a set weapon for situations when I'm really over-run.
